He Chose Her, But I Inherited His Empire Chapter 13

He Chose Her, But I Inherited His Empire Chapter 13

From elementary to high school, thanks to Blair—and my father withdrawing his protection-the teachers had always treated me like a problem student.

When I walked into the principal’s office, he made no effort to hide his impatience.

“Genevieve, has your guardian still not arrived? I warned you. If no one shows up today, the school will be forced to terminate your enrollment.”

Several other teachers were in the office.

When they heard my name, they all looked up.

Their expressions were different from before.

They had obviously seen the interview clip.

“I am Genevieve’s mother.”

My mother stepped to my side.

“Call in the student who shoved my daughter. He will apologize.”

The entire office fell silent.

From the first day of school until now, no one had ever

come for me.

Any event that required a guardian’s presence had never included me.

The principal had long since decided that no one would ever speak for me.

A young teacher, new to the school, recognized my

mother first.

“Helena Bellandi?”

She stood up.

“I’ve seen your films. Aren’t you Dante Ricci’s wife? Then who is Blair?”

My mother turned a cold gaze on the principal.

“Dante was blinded by his own grief and guilt.

“He placed his adopted child at the right hand of the family head, while his own biological daughter was left unprotected.

“You saw his choice, so you followed his lead and allowed Genevieve to be hurt.”

No one dared to look at me.
