My Fiancé Confessed His Betrayal Chapter 03

My Fiancé Confessed His Betrayal Chapter 03 The Graduation Scandal

Dressed in an exquisite white gown, Wynne stood centered beneath the stage lights as the class valedictorian.

Whispers rippled through the audience. “Wynne is an absolute angel. She survived that terrible tragedy where over a hundred people died, and now she’s living life for all of them.”

Wynne flashed me a fragile, sweet smile. “Liz, it means the world to me that you showed up.”

Beside me, Shane Sterling tapped his foot, glaring at me to hurry.

I unfurled the script he had shoved into my hands earlier.

“My early menopause made me unstable yesterday. I lost my composure and struck Wynne by mistake.

“I intend to hunt down whoever started the slanderous claims calling her a mistress.”

With an icy chuckle, I ripped the paper into confetti right in front of his scowling face, then snatched the microphone.

“What on earth makes you think I’d ever show mercy to a backstabbing viper?

“Allow me to clear up the rumors. They aren’t slander.

“Wynne Frost is a home–wrecking mistress.”

Pandemonium broke out across the hall.

Wynne froze, her eyes instantly brimming with unshed tears.

“Liz, I’m forever in your debt. I was even prepared to claim your illegitimate baby as my own. What more could you possibly demand from me…?”

I curled my lip in disgust. “Have you lost your mind?”

In response, she reached into her dress and produced a crimson booklet, holding it up for everyone to see.

A marriage license. Issued just yesterday.

“Liz, he and I are husband and wife under the law.”

I whirled to face Shane in sheer disbelief. He merely leaned in, murmuring with utter nonchalance, “I realized yesterday that we didn’t have a formal picture together, so I gave her a

license as a graduation token to make her happy. Relax. I’ll file for divorce tomorrow. After the 1–month cooling–off period, you and I will officially register.”

Sobbing into the microphone, Wynne addressed the crowd.

“Liz, you’re terrified that I’ll reveal how your father’s fatal mistake slaughtered over a hundred innocent lives. But hiring internet trolls to frame me as a mistress is going too far.”

I swung my arm, aiming straight for her face. “Shut your mouth! My father gave his life to rescue you!”

A violent grip locked around my wrist.

Garrett Thorne leaped onto the stage, shoving me away with a frigid expression.

“You dare assault her while we’re standing right here? Who will shield her when we aren’t around?”

I glared at him, stunned. “Why aren’t you standing up for my father? You know better than anyone that he died a hero!”

A shadow of conflict crossed Garrett’s face before he hardened his posture. “Unless we strip away your status as a fallen hero’s daughter, you’ll never stop terrorizing Wynne. Don’t worry. Even without that title, I’ll make sure you’re taken care of.”

Shane pressed close, whispering in my ear, “Liz, your father is gone. The living are what matter now. Just drop this and make peace with Wynne.”

Inside my mind, the system’s timer ticked relentlessly.

Countdown: 3 hours remaining.

Tears mixed with blood spilled down my cheeks as a bitter laugh escaped my lips. “What about me? What if I’m the one who doesn’t make it out alive?”

Shane choked, his breath catching.

Suddenly, chaos erupted below the stage as someone launched an attack.

A bucket of thick red paint splashed directly across my police uniform, dripping onto the floor.

“Liz Vance’s father murdered everyone! And she tried to trap a man with a bastard child! How despicable!”

“A murderer for a dad, a mistress for a daughter–what a disgusting duo!”

“You’re unworthy of that uniform! Tear it off her!”

The crowd of students stormed the stage like a ravenous pack. Hands clawed at my collar, rough arms shoved me down, and spit rained over my face.

Shane made a move to step in, but Wynne clutched her temples, letting out a pitiful wail. “Liz, my head throbs whenever I recall that day. Please stop tormenting me…”

Overcome with panic, Garrett scooped Wynne into his arms and bolted toward the exit.

Shane paused, glancing back at me with a soft whisper, “Don’t worry, it’s just some college kids blowing off steam. With your tactical training, you won’t suffer any real harm.”

The system’s cold tone chimed inside my brain. Warning: Host’s life functions declining at a dangerous rate.

The notification was drowned out.

All I could hear was a deafening roar of slurs, cruel laughter, and the relentless flash of cameras.

Time lost all meaning until a sudden, warm gush bled through my lower body.

A terrified scream shattered the noise. “Look at all that blood!”

“Did we just murder someone?!”
