The Closet
I freeze in my tracks.

“Come here and apologize to Leo,” his voice rumbles with a heavy, commanding edge. “You shoved him. You scared him.”

I pause.

Thinking that this might be the very last time I ever see my pup, I lose all energy to argue.

I walk back over and crouch down in front of him.

“I’m sorry,” I say, looking into his eyes one last time. “I shouldn’t have shoved you.”

Leo sniffles. Then, without warning, he spits right in my face.

A glob of saliva lands on my cheek, sliding down my skin in a sticky trail.

“Filthy rogue,” he says in his high-pitched voice. “You deserve it.”

Grayson just watches with cold, indifferent eyes, casually adding, “You’ve been whoring yourself out. Even your own pup is disgusted by you.”

I slowly raise my hand and wipe the spit off my cheek.

And then, I laugh.

“Whoring myself out?”

These three setups, these perfectly timed “infidelity” raids—they were executed so sloppily. Does he really not see the flaws?

Maybe he does see them, but he just doesn’t want to expose the truth.

If he wants to believe it, then fine. Let him.

“We’ve been mated for four years, and you’ve been parading around with her for exactly four years!”

“You even let her raise our pup in her own quarters. Tell me, Grayson, who’s the one actually whoring around?”

“We’re already breaking the bond. Can you stop lying to yourself?”

Serena’s face turns stark white.

Her eyes instantly well up with fake tears. “Maeve, how could you slander me like this? Alpha, I…”

“Maeve, it’s been four years. Are you done throwing these pathetic tantrums?” Grayson’s gaze locks onto me, dark and lethal.

“Fine. Since you’re so convinced we’re dirty—” He stalks toward me, step by predatory step. “Then I’ll show you exactly what dirty looks like.”

He orders the Omega nanny to take Leo away. Then, his hand shoots out, gripping my wrist like an iron vise, and he drags me straight toward the Alpha’s suite.

The second the heavy door slams shut, he snaps a pair of heavy silver cuffs around my wrists and throws me onto the floor.

Then he yanks Serena against his chest, his cold eyes locked dead on mine as he lowers his head to whisper right against her ear.

“Do you want this?”
