They Bullied the Top Student, Then My Mafia Family Arrived Chapter 11

For three full seconds, no one in the living room said a word.

Then Mom suddenly scooped me into her arms and spun me around the huge living room several times.

“My daughter got a perfect score! The Moretti Family’s finally produced a genius!”

Dad stayed where he was, his eyes slightly red, but he still said, “Put her down before you drop my baby.”

Then he turned away and made a call.

“Find out where the students who came second and third in the state live. I want to send them gifts for making it so obvious how far ahead my daughter was.”

Mom stared at the score report at least twenty more times.

“This is the proudest moment of my life. From now on, I’m bringing up this score at every Family Council meeting.”

Dad gave my shoulder a proud pat.

“When I was in training camp, I never passed a single academic exam. My instructor said missions were the only thing I was good for. Never thought I’d have a daughter who could pull off a score like this.”

My parents rented out a ballroom at Oheka Castle on Long Island and celebrated for three straight days.

Congratulations gifts from across North America and Europe piled up at the Family estate, while Family heads, capos, and advisers took

turns raising glasses to us.

Even the four Families that had already surrendered a third of their core businesses sent representatives.

When Adrian arrived with the other three, they looked both awkward and deeply regretful.

He walked up to me, his voice slightly hoarse.

“Miss Moretti, congratulations. You earned that perfect score.”

Julian stood beside him, all traces of his former polite arrogance gone.

Ethan and Nolan stepped forward carrying gifts.

“We’re sorry for what happened back then.”

I didn’t take them.

“If I really had been Grace Miller, just an ordinary girl with no Family crest and no powerful background, I probably would’ve waited my entire life and never heard that apology.”

All four looked humiliated.

They left the ballroom without another word.

Later, I heard about Lina from some classmates.

Her college entrance exam score was far below her usual level, and in the end, the only school that accepted her was an ordinary community college.

She tried reaching out to Adrian and the others again, only to discover

that all four of them had blocked her.

Ethan transferred to a boarding school to repeat his final year.

Julian was sent to Europe by his Family.

After losing his status as heir, Nolan disappeared completely from New York society.

Adrian was taken back to the Family estate by his father to face punishment.

In the end, Lina dragged her suitcase to the community college that had accepted her, all by herself.

As for me, I received an acceptance letter from Columbia University.

On move-in day, Mom tried to shut down the roads around campus again.

I stopped her before she could.

“Mom, I finally get to live like a normal person. If you have a hundred helicopters hovering over Morningside Heights, I’ll spend another four years eating lunch by myself.”

Victoria was clearly unhappy about it, but she canceled the convoy anyway.

In the end, she only kept two Family guards following me from a distance.

I stood in front of Low Memorial Library at Columbia, my backpack over one shoulder, watching students stream in and out of campus.

Morning sunlight spilled across the stone steps.

There were no Family crests here.

No blood oaths.

No one knew what kind of family I came from.

I took a deep breath and climbed the steps.

From this moment on, I was no longer the nameless side character who got only one sentence in someone else’s novel.

And the story no longer got to decide my future.
