They Bullied the Top Student, Then My Mafia Family Arrived Chapter 10

Lina suddenly took a step back, deliberately putting some distance between herself and the four of them.

She quickly glanced at the four pale-faced heirs, then looked away and raised her voice.

“I never loved any of them. They kept using their Family names to chase after me, and they went after Grace without my say-so. I never told them to hurt anyone!”

Adrian stared at her in disbelief.

“But you told all four of us you liked us. And every time we humiliated her, you never once stopped us…”

“Did I?”

Lina cut him off immediately, putting on an innocent expression as if she had no idea what he was talking about.

“You must’ve remembered it wrong. I never promised any of you anything.”

Then she added, sounding almost horrified, “And how could you treat a girl like she was disposable just because she didn’t have a Family crest or anyone powerful protecting her? That’s terrifying.”

She turned toward my parents and deliberately lowered her voice, making herself sound as pitiful as possible.

“Mrs Moretti, Mr Rossi, they’re the ones who should answer for what they did. I’m just an ordinary student. I don’t have a powerful family or any standing. Whatever is going on between Mafia Families has

nothing to do with me.”

She cautiously glanced at the gun in my father’s hand and swallowed nervously.

“Can I leave now?”

All four men’s expressions changed at once.

Adrian pressed his lips together.

Julian lowered his head.

Ethan turned his face away and let out a bitter laugh at his own choices.

Nolan simply sat on the ground in silence.

Watching the situation fall apart this spectacularly, I finally couldn’t hold back my laughter.

“Gentlemen, looks like you lost.”

Lina froze.

“Lost what?”

I kindly explained the bet we had just made.

With every word, her face grew paler.

She hurriedly turned toward the four men.

“I only said that because I was scared. You’ve got your Families and your status. Even if you lose some business, you’ll survive. I’ve got nothing.”

Her voice grew more desperate.

“You understand that, don’t you?”

All four men turned away from her at the same time.

Not one of them looked at her again.

Lina stood there alone, completely unsure what to do next.

News of what happened spread through the school almost immediately.

Everyone learned that Grace Miller, the supposedly ordinary girl from a laundromat family, was actually the sole heir to the Moretti Family.

My real name was Grace Moretti.

And just like that, I went back to being alone.

No one dared sit beside me in class.

People coming toward me in the hallway automatically moved out of my way.

The same students who used to mock me now lowered their heads whenever they saw me, terrified that I might remember every single thing they had ever said.

I sighed.

With no one bothering me anymore, I had no choice but to pour all that extra time into studying.

From then on, if I wasn’t eating or sleeping, I was reading or working through practice problems.

A few months later, it was time for the standardized college entrance exam.

Mom was ten times more nervous than I was.

At four in the morning, she dragged me out of bed and checked my admission documents, identification, calculator, and pencils over and over again to make sure nothing was missing.

When I stepped outside, the scene in front of me nearly stopped me in my tracks.

The entire street had been temporarily cleared.

Hundreds of black cars lined both sides of the road, while helicopters circled above the river in the distance.

All of it was just to make sure I reached the testing center on time.

We didn’t hit a single traffic delay.

I entered the exam room right on schedule.

When the final section ended, my parents, who had spent the entire day on edge, came toward me from opposite sides.

Both of them stared at me, waiting for an answer.

“How did it go?”

“It was okay.”

Mom immediately looked dissatisfied.

“Okay as in good, or okay as in—”

Before she could finish, Dad smacked the back of her head.

“Enough. Whatever score our girl gets, she’s still the brightest student either of our Families has produced in generations.”

On the day the results were released, my parents sat completely silent in front of the computer, staring at the screen as we waited for the results page to load.

I logged into my account.

Clicked the score report.

The page refreshed.

1600.

A perfect score.

The only one in the entire state.
