They Bullied the Top Student, Then My Mafia Family Arrived Chapter 06

Nolan immediately went on alert.

The man standing in front of him was Dante Rossi, head of the Rossi Family.

On the surface, the Rossi Group ran legitimate security and shipping businesses. Behind the scenes, however, the Family controlled several major transport routes through the Port of New York and Chicago, and they never backed down when it came to conflicts between Families.

For years, the Hawthorne Family had carefully avoided any direct confrontation with the Rossis, maintaining only a fragile peace on the surface.

Nolan had never imagined Dante Rossi himself would show up outside a school.

He took a deep breath, trying to hide his fear, and forced a respectful smile onto his face.

“Mr Rossi. I didn’t realise it was you. You wouldn’t have come in person unless it was important. I’ve got urgent business of my own, so perhaps we can stay out of each other’s way.”

As he spoke, he slowly edged toward the car door, trying not to draw attention to the movement.

The guards behind Dante kept their weapons raised.

“You want to leave? Fine. Let my men search the car first.”

Nolan’s smile faltered for a moment.

“There’s nothing in the car except luggage we’re taking home for break. Nothing worth your time.”

Dante clearly had no interest in hearing another excuse.

He raised one hand.

“Open the trunk.”

Then he looked directly at Nolan, his expression completely unreadable.

“I’m here to find my niece.”

For a brief moment, panic flashed through Nolan.

Then he quickly calmed himself down.

He had already investigated my background.

My parents were ordinary business owners who ran a laundromat. They had no Family crest, no powerful name, and no protection from any Mafia Family.

There was absolutely no way they had anything to do with the Rossi Family.

Whoever Dante was looking for, it couldn’t possibly be Grace Miller.

Once Nolan convinced himself of that, some of his tension disappeared.

He sighed and put on an expression of reluctant resignation.

“All right. Since you insist, yes, there’s a girl from my school in the car.”

“She forgot her place and crossed all four of our Families more than once. I was only taking her away to teach her a lesson.”

“But she can’t be the girl you’re looking for. She’s just some nobody. Her name carries no weight at all.”

With that, he opened the trunk himself, clearly expecting the sight inside to prove he had nothing important to hide.

I was curled up inside, still unconscious.

A dark bruise marked my temple, and my wrinkled clothes were twisted around me.

“Mr. Rossi, if there’s nothing else, I’ll just—”

Nolan never finished the sentence.

Dante had already drawn his gun.

The cold barrel pressed directly against Nolan’s forehead.

“You dared lay a hand on my niece.”
