My Wife Longed for My Foster Brother Chapter 03

My Wife Longed for My Foster Brother Chapter 03 Bound and Broken
When I opened my eyes again, I was hanging from the ceiling of a boxing ring.
Derek was standing in front of me, pulling on a pair of gloves. He glanced to the side. “Cass, you said you didn’t care about him. So if I mess him up a little, don’t come crying later.”
Cassandra was there. She was actually there.
I stared at her in disbelief. She lowered her gaze and looked away.
“Don’t look at me like that,” she said. “You stole Derek’s parents. You took his identity. If he wants to hurt you, it’s karma. You’ve earned it.”
“Derek said he’ll hit you until he’s satisfied. After that, what you owe him will be wiped clean.”
I was shaking with rage. I opened my mouth to demand what gave her the right to decide that for me—and Derek’s fist connected with my jaw before I could get a single word out.
Again. And again. My hands, suspended above me, felt like they were about to be torn off by the ropes. Blood poured down my face until everything in front of me turned crimson.
After dozens of punches, Derek peeled off his sweat-soaked tank top and tossed it aside.
I saw the tattoo on his chest.
I’d seen it before—on Cassandra’s left breast, just above her heart.
“Looks familiar, doesn’t it?” Derek leaned in close, grinning.
“She said anywhere you touched her, she’d get a mark that belonged to me.”
He pulled back, his grin turning ugly. “You two keep the lights on when you’re in bed? Next time, you’d better take a closer look. The tattoos on her body aren’t just on her chest.”
Something ripped open inside my chest. I lowered my head and coughed out several mouthfuls of blood onto the canvas.
Derek stepped back, took aim, and swung with everything he had—straight at my temple.
Pure survival instinct made me throw myself sideways.
His fist slammed into the steel pillar behind me—and bent it on impact.
“Derek!”
Cassandra rushed forward, grabbing his hand. She pulled off his glove and stared at his slightly reddened knuckles with the kind of heartbreak she had never once shown for me.
Then she turned and slapped me across the face.
“What the hell did you dodge for?!”
“Someone tie him up. Don’t let Derek hurt his hand again.”
Several bodyguards bound me tightly to the pillar. Derek lifted his leg and drove his foot into my stomach, his face twisted with disgust.
“Look at all this blood. That’s fucking disgusting. You got my ring dirty. I’m tired of hitting you today—you guys finish teaching him a lesson for me.”
At his command, the bodyguards swarmed me. Every punch landed solidly. I felt each one. Even breathing was agony.
But no matter how much my body hurt, it couldn’t compare to the pain in my chest.
Through my blood-red vision, I watched Cassandra wipe the sweat from Derek’s face with a handkerchief. She tilted her head up at him, her eyes full of worry.
Then Derek grabbed the back of her neck and kissed her.
I watched her arms wrap around him. I watched him sweep her up and carry her into the lounge next door.
The door started making a steady, rhythmic sound that I couldn’t unhear.
Tears mixed with the blood on my face. I closed my eyes and let my fading consciousness drift away into the dark.
