My Fiancé Married My Long Lost Sister on Our Wedding Day Chapter 07

By dinner, I couldn’t stand on my own. Ethan helped me to a chair, even tucked a pillow behind my back. “Sec? I haven’t abandoned you.” He ladled soup for me in front of everyone. “Lena overthinks things. She’ll be fine after she rests.”

Cilantro floated in the bowl. I was severely allergic. For seven years, he’d always reminded the waiter. Today he forgot. Or rather—with Sophie beside him, he no longer had the capacity to remember what I couldn’t eat.

“Ethan, Lena won’t drink it. Feed me instead.”

He brought the bowl to her lips immediately. “Easy, it’s hot.”

The relatives joined in the laughter. “They were so close as kids. Now the sister’s back and the older

one’s jealous.” “Lena’s just spoiled. She should give in to Sophie.”

My brother walked over with a wine glass. “Hear that? No one thinks you’re being treated unfairly. Sign the agreement, toast Sophie, and let’s move on.”

The papers were placed in front of me again. Pen hovering over the signature line. My vision was already blurry, but I shook my head.

“Grandma left it to me.”

Dad’s patience snapped. “How much longer are you going to be stubborn? Sign today, or don’t leave

this room.”

Sophie coaxed softly, “Dad, Lena’s not feeling well. Let her lie down first.”

Four of them carried me into the guest room. My brother set the agreement on the nightstand.

“Come out when you’re ready to cooperate.” Ethan pulled up the blanket and leaned down to touch

my forehead. “No fever. Stop pretending to be sick and making trouble for Mom and Dad.”

“My phone-”

“Once you sign.”

I grabbed his sleeve. “The folder’s in the master bedroom. Just look at it.”

For seven years, every time I held onto him like this, he’d stop and comfort me. This time, Sophie called from the door. The sleeve was pulled from my fingers at once.

“Sophie was really shaken up today. I’ll stay with her. I’ll check on you when you’re in a better

mood.”

The door closed. The lock turned.

Pain swallowed time.
