She Forgave the Crush Who Ruined Her Mom, I Divorced Chapter 05 The Fake Wedding They Deserved

Tripped out our polished professional wedding portrait and replaced it with a huge red banner printed in stark white lettering.

“Congratulations to my wife Sloane and her lover Zach on your union-may you two share a lifetime of miserable bliss together!”

Once every guest finished reading the bold text plastered across the cloth, the wall-mounted display automatically kicked off a video reel.

First up was raw surveillance footage pulled from an abandoned warehouse, the exact night Zach kidnapped and stabbed Sloane’s mother to death.

Right after the clip cut to an audio recording Bianca had secretly captured that brutal day.

“I don’t hold any resentment toward you at all. Mom always treated you like garbage back’ then, so she had it coming when you killed her.”

A deafening roar of shock and outrage burst out across the entire venue.

Sloane’s father charged forward in a blind rage and landed a hard open palm slap across both Zach’s and Sloane’s faces in one swift motion.

Zach instantly reared up, ready to fly at him in a brawl, only for Sloane to throw her body between them and hold him back.

Her father’s voice cracked with total devastation and disgust.

“You ungrateful bastard! Elias treated you with nothing but kindness, my wife doted on you your whole childhood-how the hell could you toss your conscience to the wind?!”

“Zach’s nothing but a deranged lunatic. If you keep carrying on this twisted affair with him, I’m cutting you out of this family for good!”

Sloane’s features turned ice cold. She clamped a tight grip around her father’s wrist before he could swing another blow at Zach.

“Dad, you don’t know the real Zach at all. We were promised to each other as kids from the start anyway.”

“We haven’t filed legal marriage papers yet, we’re just going through a meaningless ceremony to fix our old regret-what’s so wrong about that?”

Her father clutched his chest hard, trembling as he pointed straight at her, too overcome with fury to form coherent words. I rushed over to steady his swaying frame.

Sloane’s brows knit tight with irritation.

“Elias, Zach and I have patched everything up, we’re just close friends moving forward.”

“This whole thing’s just a pity ritual for him. Why’d you drag this whole crowd here just to humiliate me for their amusement?”

A bitter, mocking huff escaped me, my gaze sharp and taunting.

ren’t the two of you already the biggest joke anyone’s ever seen?”

Zach let out a cold, sneering laugh.

Founderd

“If Sloane and I had acted on our feelings all those years ago, we’d have a kid old enough for elementary school by now. You never would’ve even gotten a foot in the door between us.”

“Do yourself a favor and herd your little group of onlookers out of here. From today on, Sloane and I are thick as blood!”

“Smack!”

Before Bianca could step between us to intervene, I twisted my arm and delivered a brutal backhand straight across Zach’s jaw.

His eyes bulged so wide they looked ready to pop out of his skull, rage boiling over as I spoke slow and

clear.

“I’m having a conversation with my own wife. What business does some homewrecking side piece have inserting himself?”

“Besides, aren’t the two of you supposed to tie the knot? I haven’t even rolled out the wedding gift I prepared just for you two yet.”

I snapped my fingers and waved a hand toward the projector screen the second my last word landed.

“Play the rest of the footage, let every single person here watch this clearly.”

The screen flickered to life, showing crystal-clear footage of them tangled naked in a hotel bed, wrapped up in passionate embraces-their faces unmistakably Sloane and Zach.

Murmurs, gasps and vicious whispers rippled through every onlooker packed into the room.

Several men stepped forward to pin Zach’s arms tight behind his back; he could only thrash and scream useless threats without breaking free.

Sloane’s stare burned into me with unbridled hatred.

“Elias, when did you turn into this cruel, manipulative monster?”

“I’ll admit I messed up by not telling you about this plan ahead, I’m sorry for that-but how could you spy on me just to sabotage everything Zach and I have?”

Her words struck me as utterly ridiculous.

“So you genuinely think sneaking off to hotel rooms with another man behind your husband’s back is completely acceptable behavior?”

“You truly believe denying intimacy with your spouse just to save yourself for your lover isn’t a horrific betrayal, right?”

A thick, painful lump formed in Sloane’s throat, rendering her speechless for a beat.

I crumpled the stack of divorce paperwork in one hand and hurled the whole pile straight into her face.

“Sign it.”

Sloane froze rigid where she stood, stunned silent.

Zach, meanwhile, erupted into rabid screaming and foul curses.

“Sign the damn divorce papers right this second! She’s not scared of you one bit!”

“I’m not signing those papers, I’m not divorcing you.”

Sloane’s statement sliced straight through Zach’s hysterical shouting, cutting him dead mid-rant. Her voice turned shrill and venomous.

“Elias, where would you even be without my connections and resources all these years?”

Every harsh syllable falling from her lips felt alien, like I was staring at a complete stranger.

“You only got access to wealth and opportunity through me. If you’re pushing for a divorce, I’m ignoring that demand entirely. We can still carry on our marriage like normal from here on out.”
