She Saved Herself for Her Foster Brother, Not Me Chapter 04 Blood Debt
That one sentence tore apart whatever pride I still had. I hit my knees. I slammed my forehead into the ground. “I was wrong. I am worthless. I lied. I never deserved her…” I kept smashing my head against the floor until my forehead was raw and bleeding. Only then did Stella’s men drag Zach back. Stella rushed over to check him. Not a mark on him. She let out a breath. Then she turned and shot me a look of pure disgust. “If you had done this from the start, none of this would have happened. You made me go this far. You humiliated yourself.” She saw my face covered in blood. My breathing was shallow. Her brow furrowed for a second. She almost stepped forward. But Zach beat her to it. He came right up to me, eyes gleaming with malice. “I faked the whole thing. I just wanted to see how much Stella cared.” “The woman you treasured all these years? She made you grovel like a dog for me. You are a joke. The whole world is laughing at you.” He held up his camera and pointed it at me. “Come on, brother-in-law. Tell everyone. Does it still bother you that your wife gave me her first time? That she wants to have my baby?” “Hey, I am a nice guy. If it really eats you up, I will let you be my kid’s second father.” My heart felt like it was being carved out piece by piece. But for my mother’s sake, I swallowed the blood rising in my throat. “Whatever you want… I do not care anymore…” The livestream exploded. Comments flooded in. Every single one was cruel. Every single one was mocking. Only then did Stella toss me an address. Like she was throwing crumbs to a stray dog. I ran. I ran like my life depended on it. It was an abandoned training compound on the edge of the base. My mother was tied up inside a cage. Three starving tigers paced outside. Saliva dripped from their fangs. The last lock was slowly opening. I lunged for the control panel. The system was locked. I could not get in. I called Stella. My hands were shaking. On the other end, I heard it. The sound of thrusting. Muffled moans. A woman’s breathless gasps. She panted a few times before she finally picked up. “What are you screaming about? That cage is solid. It was just to scare you. No one is going to die.” “Ethan, stop the act. Find the old woman and get back here. Zach needs dinner.” She hung up. At that exact moment, the rope snapped. My mother fell straight down into the cage. “Mom!” I crashed through the side barrier. I threw myself in. I tried to cover her with my body. But I was too late. The rope had already broken. My mother screamed as she hit the ground. The tigers swarmed her in an instant. Flesh and blood sprayed across my face. I watched my mother being torn apart. A scream tore out of my throat. It did not even sound human. The stench of blood filled the air. Then I thought of the good years I had once shared with Stella. I coughed up blood. My body gave out. I collapsed onto the cold ground. Stella Hayes. If I survive this, I will make you pay.
