The Top Score That Brought The Army Chapter 06

Asher’s pupils shrank to pinpricks, cold sweat soaking straight through his shirt.

The man standing before him was Orion Sullivan.

Orion was the head of the Sullivan family-a power that rivaled the Blackwoods.

On the surface, the Sullivan Group ran legitimate corporations, but anyone in the underworld knew where

their real foundation lay.

Their methods were notoriously ruthless, precise, and absolute.

For years, the Blackwoods had taken care to avoid any direct confrontation with them, maintaining a thin

veneer of peace.

Asher never expected Orion to show up here.

He swallowed hard, forcing down the terror rising in his chest, and managed a respectful smile.

“Mr. Sullivan… what a misunderstanding.”

“You must have urgent business to come here in person. I also have a pressing matter to attend to and need

to leave immediately.”

As he spoke, he took a subtle step back, ready to slide back into his car.

But the blackclad operative behind Orion stood perfectly still, their firearms locked steadily on Asher. Not a single man relaxed his guard.

Orion shot him a glance, his voice flat. “You can leave, but only after an inspection.”

Asher’s smile stiffened. “Mr. Sullivan, there’s really nothing in my car-just some luggage. School just let out,

so…”

“Open the trunk,” Orion cut in, addressing his men.

He then turned his gaze back to Asher. “I’m here on behalf of a friend to retrieve his daughter.”

Asher’s heart skipped a beat, but reason quickly kicked in.

He had thoroughly checked Angie’s background.

Her parents were plain smalltime selfemployed traders from an unremarkable household, with zero meaningful ties to the Sullivan family.

There was no way the daughter Orion was talking about could be Angie.

Reassured by that thought, his frayed nerves settled.

He sighed and put on a helpless act.

“In that case, I won’t beat around the bush. There is indeed a girl hidden in my car. She’s a classmate from school who crossed me. I’m taking her back to teach her a lesson.”

“But she’s certainly not your friend’s daughter, Mr. Sullivan. She’s nothing but lowborn trash.”

To show his good faith, he reached over and popped the trunk open of his own accord.

My body was curled up inside, fully exposed.

A deep purple bruise showed at my temple, my uniform rumpled, completely unconscious.

“Mr. Sullivan, if there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave…”

The rest of his sentence caught in his throat.

Asher stared in absolute disbelief.

Orion raised his sidearm, pressing the cold barrel directly against Asher’s forehead.

His voice carried a chilling darkness that made the skin crawl.

“You little bastard… how dare you lay a hand on my friend’s daughter!”
