My Fiancé Took Her on Vacation Instead of Marrying Me? I Married WAY Better Chapter 15

My Fiancé Took Her on Vacation Instead of Marrying Me? I Married WAY Better Chapter 15

August 15th, Sterling City.

I sat in front of the vanity mirror, looking at my reflection-white gown, calm eyes.

Three soft knocks came at the door. Mr. Clark’s voice drifted through. “Ms. Wright, it’s time.”

I stood and pushed the door open.

At the end of the hallway, Grandpa stood in a gray suit, leaning on his dark wood cane. When he saw me, his eyes reddened for a moment, then he turned away and coughed twice.

“Let’s go, my dear granddaughter.”

I took his arm, and we walked toward the ballroom.

The doors swung open slowly. Crystal lights flooded the red carpet.

Adrian stood at the far end, his black tuxedo making him look even taller and more refined. When he saw me, his gaze paused for just a moment. His throat moved.

The ceremony went on as planned. The officiant read the vows. Applause rippled through the crowd.

Then, without warning, the side door to the ballroom burst open.

Ethan stormed in.

He wore a wrinkled dark gray suit, his tie askew, his hair a mess. He looked so disheveled he was

almost unrecognizable.

Security rushed in behind him, but he threw them off and charged straight down the red carpet. He

stopped in the center, staring up at me.

His expression shifted-from shock to disbelief, then utter collapse.

“Serena…” His voice trembled. “It’s you? You’re… you’re the Wright family heiress?”

I stood on the altar, looking down at him in silence.

“Serena, let me explain-” He stepped forward, his tone almost begging.

“I was wrong. I shouldn’t have canceled the wedding ceremony. I shouldn’t have taken Mira to Coral Bay. And I definitely shouldn’t have humiliated you in front of everyone. Please, give me one

more chance.”

“We were together for eight years. Eight years. You can’t just throw me away like this-”

Before he could finish, Adrian stepped off the altar and moved in front of me.

“Are you done?”

Ethan looked up at him, and for the first time, genuine fear flickered in his eyes.

This man wasn’t just a name in the financial news anymore. He was the heir to the Ashford Group, standing right in front of him.

“I… I just wanted to say a few words to Serena-”

Adrian didn’t hesitate. He kicked Ethan square in the chest.

Ethan crashed onto the red carpet, coughing violently.

The ballroom fell deathly silent. No one made a sound.

Adrian looked down at him, his tone as casual as if he were discussing the weather. “Ethan Hale, your company went bankrupt. That wasn’t a coincidence. I did it.”

Ethan’s face went white.

Adrian glanced back at me. I gave him a small nod.

He turned back to Ethan, his voice colder now. “I was only going to bankrupt you. But you crashed

my wedding.”

“Now, I’m not just bankrupting you. I’m making sure you carry a debt you’ll never pay off in this

lifetime.”

Security moved in, grabbing Ethan by the arms and dragging him out.

He struggled, craning his neck to look back at me, screaming at the top of his lungs. “Serena! Look

at me! I’m really sorry-just look at me—”

But I never looked at him again.

Not once.

The officiant, shaken, still managed to raise his microphone. “Uh… let’s continue with the

ceremony.”

Adrian walked back to me and lowered his voice. “You okay?”

I told him the truth. “Felt pretty good.”

He let out a low laugh, then took the pink diamond ring from the velvet box and slid it gently onto my finger.

“Serena Wright, will you marry me?”

I looked at him and smiled.

“I do.”

Outside the ballroom, Ethan was dumped onto the steps.

His phone rang. His assistant’s voice.

“Ethan, the bank just gave us a three-day ultimatum. They want full repayment of all loans…”

Ethan turned off the phone without a word.

The night breeze was warm, but he felt only cold.

His mind replayed every silent sacrifice Serena had made over eight years.

Only today did he finally understand he hadn’t just lost a woman. He’d lost the one person he would never be worthy of.

He covered his face and let out a desperate sob on the empty steps.
