On the other side, the ocean breeze of Coral Bay did nothing to calm Ethan down.

After landing, he went back to the hotel with a dark expression. The planned pickup, dinner, client meetings-all of it fell apart.

In the suite, Mira came out of the bathroom in a bathrobe, forcing a light laugh. “Ethan, are we still going to that private seafood place tonight? I already planned my makeup—”

“Get out.”

He didn’t even look up. His voice was ice.

Mira blinked. “What?”

“I said get out.”

Ethan slammed his phone on the coffee table and finally raised his eyes to her. All that was left in them was cold judgment and irritation.

“From now on, without my permission, don’t touch my phone, don’t touch anything in this room.”

Mira’s heart sank. She forced a wounded look. “Ethan, what’s wrong with you today? Is it because of what happened at the airport… Did Serena say something to you?”

“You still have the nerve to bring her up?”

That one sentence made Mira go pale.

Ethan stared at her, his tone slow and crushing. “That video call yesterday-you did that on

purpose, didn’t you? The slippers, the shirt, all those words-you planned everything, didn’t you?”

“I didn’t, I just-”

“Just what?” He laughed coldly. “Just wanted to push her out and take her place?”

Mira’s tears fell. “I just like you. What’s wrong with that?”

“Like me?” His gaze was cold. “Do you like me, or do you like my title, my company, my resources? If I were still that broke guy living in a basement office from eight years ago, would you even look at me?”

Mira was speechless.

That brief silence said everything.

A wave of disgust washed over Ethan.

He’d always noticed her little schemes. He just enjoyed the admiration of a young, pretty girl. He’d allowed the flirtation, even used it to provoke Serena and make her back down.

Only today did he finally see, clearly, what he’d been enabling.

The doorbell rang.

His assistant stood at the door, pale as a ghost, clutching a laptop, his voice trembling. “Ethan, you

need to see this.”

He opened the laptop. Security footage.

On the screen, late at night, Mira was seen in the CEO office corridor, carrying a stack of files into

the records room. She didn’t come out for half an hour.

Ethan’s gaze went dark. “What is this?”

The assistant spoke with difficulty. “Legal found traces of client data leaks. When they checked the

footage, they saw Ms. Bennett. Tech also recovered deleted logs showing someone packaged Ms. Wright’s old project decks and client proposals and sent them to an external email address. The IP…

came from Ms. Bennett’s workstation.”

The air froze.

Mira panicked. “It wasn’t me! Someone set me up!”

“Set you up?” Ethan walked toward her, his voice terrifyingly cold. “Then explain why you had

records room access. Explain why client data started leaking right before and after Serena left. And

those rumors around the office about her being emotional, about holding back the IPO-was that you too?”

Mira shook her head frantically, then broke. “I just made a few comments… I was just afraid she wouldn’t leave, that I’d never get my chance-”

Crash!

Ethan grabbed a glass from the table and hurled it to the floor. Glass shattered everywhere.

“Get out.”

His eyes were bloodshot, murderous.

“You’re fired, effective immediately. Legal will follow up on the leak. You better pray the company’s losses aren’t too big.”

Cornered, Mira shrieked back, “Don’t act so wounded! Did I force you to bring me to Coral Bay? Did I force you to humiliate her in public? Did I force you to let me walk all over her? You’re the one who changed! Now that things are going bad, you blame it all on me!””

Every word hit him like a slap.

Ethan’s face twisted, but he had no retort.

Because she was right.

The biggest culprit had always been himself.

Just then, the assistant’s phone rang again. After he answered, the color drained from his face.

“Ethan, the company just received seven more termination letters. And all those clients pulling out and canceling-they all trace back to the same source-”

“The Sterling Circle. The Wright family.”
