My Family Wanted a Sacrificial Bride, They Got a Boxing Queen Chapter 07

The next morning, someone kicked the Thorne estate’s reinforced front door open.

A muscular old man, bare-armed and pushing sixty, stormed inside. Every inch of his frame was packed with dense, battle-hardened muscle that rivaled mine, and he was carrying an enormous, gleaming steel blade in one hand.

“Get the hell out here, you Thorne psycho! Come face me!”

I’d just hopped off the treadmill when I spotted Knox’s face twisted with rage.

Damn it. The old man had clearly heard those “Magnus abuses his fiancée” rumors and had come to

demolish the place.

“Dad, what are you doing here?”

I rushed over, but Knox yanked me behind him with one arm. His eyes blazed, and that fifty-pound blade caught the sunlight with a cold, lethal glint.

“Don’t you worry, baby girl. I heard this Thorne bastard’s been torturing you in his basement every night, and nobody touches my daughter. I’m gonna carve him into pieces.”

Magnus walked out of the bathroom at that exact moment, towel in hand, hair still dripping.

He took one look at the furious old man with the massive blade-and instead of calling security, his

face lit up.

“This must be my father-in-law.”

Magnus tossed the towel aside and walked into the center of the room, his bare torso still marked with bruises.

“I’m nobody’s father-in-law! Eat steel!”

Knox didn’t waste a breath. He swung that blade in a roaring arc straight at Magnus’s head.

Magnus’s pupils contracted, and he slipped aside with a clean, precise dodge.

“Sir, since Vesper learned everything from you, I want you to see for yourself whether I’m worthy of standing by her side.”

Magnus had guts; I’d give him that.

Facing down a three-time underground champion who’d raised me, he didn’t use any fancy

technique. He chose to meet the old man’s onslaught head-on with nothing but raw grit.

The next ten minutes turned the Thorne living room into a demolition zone.

Knox had age on him, but his explosive power was still terrifying. He tossed the blade aside and let his fists do the work-sledgehammer blows raining down on Magnus without pause.

Magnus got driven back step by step. His left eye swelled, his lip split open, and a vicious kick to the ribs drove him to one knee with a grunt.

But when Knox’s next punch came crashing down, Magnus planted himself and refused to give

another inch.

Knox stopped. He looked down at the bloodied young man whose eyes still burned with clarity and

steel.

“Dad, that’s enough.”

I walked over and patted Knox’s back with a sigh.

“You keep going, and I’ll have to drive him to the ER. Look at the basement-he built me a full

octagon cage.’

Knox peered through the window, took in the world-class setup, and glanced back at Magnus’s battered but resilient frame. The last of his fury faded.

He was a brute, sure, but he recognized genuine talent when he saw it.

The way this kid looked at his daughter wasn’t the look of a deviant-it was the look of someone who’d finally found his equal.

“Not bad. Solid foundation, tough spirit.”

Knox sheathed his blade and gave Magnus’s shoulder a critical smack that sent Magnus into another coughing fit.

“Alright, I’m done here. The boy’s got some steel in him.”

Knox strode toward the door with his blade in hand, then paused at the threshold and turned back to toss me a casual reminder as if he were telling me to take out the trash.

“Sweetheart, this Magnus kid’s body can take a decent hit. But go easy on him. Stick to the rules. I

don’t want you accidentally killing the guy before you’re even married and making yourself a

widow.”

Magnus pressed a hand to his swollen eye and managed a dry laugh as he watched Knox disappear.

“I’ll take his advice to heart.”

I handed him an ice pack and raised an eyebrow.

“You hear that, Mr. Thorne? My old man gave the green light. Shall we continue?”

Magnus’s eyes ignited again. He pushed through the pain, got to his feet, and ripped the ice pack

away.

“Absolutely. I’m not stopping until I can pin you against that cage.”
