The Female Hybrid Everyone Hated Chapter 02

The Female Hybrid Everyone Hated Chapter 02

I shoved him so hard that I struck his vital point and his blo0d fell on me. He was bigger, stronger that he barely moved — but the shock on his face was worth it.

He grabbed my wrist and I grabbed his collar and then we were both moving at a crazy speed, a graceless furious tangle of elbows and curses and twenty-five years of everything we’d never said out loud.

He got his ἅrm around my shoulders and slammed me back against the wall. I drove my knee up and caught his thigh and he swore viciously in the old tongue. I clawed for his hair — he caught my wrists — I headbutted his chin with enough force that he actually staggered.

We stood there panting in the torchlight. His lip was bleeding. My cheek was already swelling but neither of us let go.

“I hἅte you,” I told him. My voice cracked on the last word and I hἅted myself for it.

Something moved across his face.

Things might have gone the other way around of me trying to scurry in his favour, like I said he was one of the four male leads the Moon Goddess had chosen for me.

Claire said that if I could raise his familial love value to one hundred percent where he would want to d!e to protect me, then I would succeed. But then Rose, that bἅstard had stolen his heart.

I had no idea how Rose had gotten so deep into his head and twisted him that hard that he fell for her. And when she lied to him that I’d hired a rogue werewolf to beat her, assault her and rἅpe her, Tyson believed her without hesitation. From that day on, he hἅted me.

Tyson slowly walked in front of me, his eyes glowing deep red now in the dark night.

The moon was full now and his anger had snapped, so had his beastly strength. His body was darkening and expanding, slightly becoming hairy.

I knew immediately it was trouble. I raised my head up and tapped into the werewolf side of me and my eyes glowed golden yellow, those were the eyes of a Hybrid.

GROWL!!!!

My face changed and I hoped it would at least stop Tyson from what he was planning but it did not.

Tyson slammed his hand and grabbed my throat so tight that I lost the ability to breathe for a few seconds.

He dragged me and fell on fours running into the woods like an ἅnimἅl as my body kept on smashing the ground and dirt as we ran to a nearby riverbank.

Then he raised me up and hurled me towards a huge tree as I smashed my back and spat out a mouth full of blo0d.

“If you’re going to d!e, don’t do it on our territory. I don’t want anyone else seeing an abomination d!e and we get cursed for it.”

“So I picked out a good spot for you. D!e here. Go on, hurry up!” He tossed the white oak stake on the ground so close to me.

My head was ringing from the attack I had just borne but I was quick to recover unlike him my injuries were healing fast.

“You see..perks of being a Hybrid.” That annoying voice of the Moon Goddess rang in my head again and I bit down my teeth hard and squeezed my fist.

I had had enough.

“What are you waiting for Yara, k!ll yourself now as you wanted”

This wasn’t the first time he’d seen me try to k!ll myself.

Back then, he only had eyes for Rose. I thought if I threatened to d!e, it might make him care enough to listen to my side of the story. I never really meant to go through with it.

So now, he thought I was just faking again. He was sure I didn’t have the guts.

“Alright.” He thought I was bluffing. Yet I showed him I wasn’t.

I ran at speed and grabbed the stake, I only slowed down for a second as committing suicide wasn’t an easy thing but I kicked that thought back after I remembered my pain and suffering.

So I drove the stake into my heart.

BAM!!!

I felt Tyson’s body collide with mine as we flew down to the ground.

I had stabbed myself but Tyson had managed to twist it to avoid my heart and then he snatched the stake away from me with great strength.

sh!t I missed again.

“ARE YOU F*CKING CRAZY YARA”

“YES, WHAT THE HɛLL IS WRONG WITH YOU. GIVE ME BACK THE STAKE”

“NOOO!!”

I exhaled a huge amount of air to calm down. Tyson didn’t actually want me deἅd.

Was there a chance he really cared about me.

“It seems so. If I were you I’d grab the chance to win his heart,” Claire whispered to me in my head.

And I took the chance, taking a step gently forward to him.

“Brother, what exactly are you doing here?” I asked, my voice cracking. “Why aren’t you at Rose’s wedding?”

“Did you come out here because of me?”

I looked up at him, a tiny flicker of hope still alive in my chest.

He had been at the wedding just moments ago. Had he followed me because he was worried?

But his next words crushed that hope completely.

“That is really bold of you… I’m not here for you. I was on my way to run an errand for Rose when a guard told me they saw you steal the white oak, you lunat!c!”

“Let me tell you something, Yara. Stop trying to make me feel sorry for you with this act.”

I looked at his furious face and smiled bitterly, closing my eyes in defeat.

For a second, I’d actually thought he might be worried about me. How stup!d I am.

I already knew the truth. My brother was head over heels for Rose. He was her doormat. She loved Dorian, not him, but that didn’t stop Tyson from running around doing errands for her wedding.

What a devoted fo0l.

“Oh dἅmn, this is delicious,” the Moon Goddess murmured in my head. “I’ve missed this energy between you two. This is the premium sh!t I wanted.”

“Claire!! You’re supposed to be telling me how else to d!e,” I said to her.

“Mmm. I’ll get to it. This is more interesting. Besides missing another golden opportunity to win his heart? Truly tragic darling.”

And she laughed out maniacally in my head. It was fun for her, all of this.

Tyson finally let go of my wrists. He stepped back. Straightened his jacket. Put the cold face back on like a mask.

“You’re not dying tonight,” he said. “Not here.”

“You don’t get to decide that.”

“No.” He looked at me for one long moment — something raw and unfinished in it that he immediately buried. “But I’m deciding it anyway…I can’t actually let you go through with it.”

“Yara, who gave you permission?!”

“Listen to me. Your life was given to you by Mom. You don’t get to throw it away.”

Mom.

My mom was the only person in this world who had ever been truly good to me. I loved her. The thought of her face — the way she used to hold my hands when I cried as a child, the only warmth I had ever known here — sat heavy in my chest like a stone I couldn’t move.

I didn’t want to leave her.

But I had no choice.

Tyson had stopped me this time. I made up an excuse and went home.

I had noticed a dark figure standing in the forest but then when I looked there was nothing there.

Maybe I saw wrongly.

Behind me, he kept shouting: “So what if Dorian got married? If you really loved him, you’d let him be with the person he truly loves!”

“That’s what real love is!”

But I didn’t love Dorian.

I was just trying to stay alive. That’s why I got close to him.

I kept walking, pressing my throbbing cheek against the cool night air, staring up at the full moon.

“So,” the Moon Goddess said brightly. “Same time tomorrow?”

“I genuinely cannot stand you,” I squeezed my face and fist as I told her.

“You say that now. But we’ve got a long night ahead and I have a lot of opinions about what just happened.”

I closed my eyes.

Twenty-five years. Four men. Zero wins.

And a goddess in my head who thought my life was entertainment.

Whatever. I was going to d!e anyway.

Just apparently not tonight.
