Scorned by the Beastmen, Loved by their Healer Chapter 01

I used to be human. Right as a car crash was about to kill me, I got thrown into a world of beastfolk.
The god of this world told me there were four men. If I could win over just one of them, I’d come back to life and return to the human world.
But I tried for twelve years and still failed.
They all fell for a female named Amy. They hated me. They wished me dead.
In the end, all I left behind was a cold corpse.
The four of them lost it.
And one of them loved me all along.

When I woke up, I was lying on a strange patch of grass.
The sky was purple.
I froze.
No. A car had launched me. I should’ve been dead.
“You’re awake.”
An airy, holy voice spoke above me.
“I am the god of this world.”
“You already died in your original world,” the voice said, “but I can give you a chance to live again.”
I nodded, surprised.
“Of the four men, as long as you win one of them over and make him love you a full hundred percent, you can go back and live as a human again. You only have twelve years.”
I said yes.
Back then, I had no idea what those twelve years would do to me.
Twelve years later.
I stood in the central square of the tribe.
Today was the big day the wolf tribe’s leader, Elim, would name his Luna.
He had to choose a female werewolf to be his Luna.
Everyone knew that three years ago, he chose me.
For the past three years, I killed myself trying to be good to him.
When he got hurt, I sat by his bed for three days and nights.
When he blew up, I held back my tears and soothed him.
Whatever he needed, I was the first to run to him.
I thought he’d pick me.
I thought I was about to make it, about to win this man’s love one hundred percent.
I thought I could go home.
“I announce—”
Elim stood on the high platform, long silver-white hair streaming in the wind, blue eyes sweeping the crowd.
His gaze landed on me.
A few seconds later, he looked away.
“My Luna is Amy.”
He took the frail female’s hand and kissed it gently.
Amy ducked her head, tears shining in her eyes.
My hands shook.
Not from fear. From pain.
It felt like someone punched a hole through my chest.
“Sanna.”
He finally said my name.
I lifted my head and met those icy blue eyes.
“From today on, you are no longer a member of the tribe.”
His jaw tightened. “Get out.”
I stood there, frozen.
Whispers everywhere.
“Serves her right. She kept clinging to Lord Elim.”
“Yeah. Amy’s so gentle. Who does this one think she is?”
“Makes me sick. Beat it already.”
I didn’t cry.
I couldn’t.
I just turned around and walked out of the tribe, one step at a time.
With every step, my chest hurt worse.
Like a thousand needles stabbing me.
At the gate, I couldn’t hold it together anymore.
An invisible hand squeezed my heart hard.
I fell.
Right before I blacked out, I heard the world god’s voice.
【Quest progress: Failed to win over the wolf tribe leader.】
【Time left: 0.】
【Host will now bear the punishment for failing the quest.】
Punishment.
The god had said that if I didn’t make it in twelve years, I wouldn’t die right away.
I’d suffer pain a thousandfold instead.
Then came the long, grinding torment.
Until the pain ate me alive.
I closed my eyes.
Darkness swallowed me.
