The Price of Betraying a Mafia Princess Chapter 05

My father rushed forward in a few powerful strides and pulled me out of the guards‘ grip.

He steadied my trembling body, his eyes full of pain and fury. “Aurora, are you hurt?”

Then he turned and barked, “Move.”

The guards were shaken by his presence and backed away without thinking.

My father swept his gaze over the crowd and ordered the men behind him, “Protect the princess”

Two Moretti soldiers stepped forward at once and stood respectfully beside me. One removed his suit jacket and draped it over my shoulders.

Iris’s face changed slightly when she saw it.

But she quickly seemed to figure it out and sneered.

“Wow. Not bad for a little maid. Is this your sugar daddy? He looks pretty respectable.”

Then she looked at my father. “Sir, don’t tell me she fooled you too. She’s a crazy housekeeper. Lying is what she does.”

A few people around us laughed along.

I didn’t get angry. Instead, I smiled at Luca. “Luca, she doesn’t know who she’s standing in front of. Do you?”

The color drained from Luca’s face.

His gaze moved between me and my father, and panic flashed in his eyes before he could hide it.

A few seconds later, he forced himself to look calm and faced my father. “I heard Vivian is due soon. You don’t need to get involved in Aurora’s business.”

My father cut him off immediately. “What? What does my wife’s pregnancy have to do with you people bullying Aurora?”

The second he said that, Iris perked right up. “Your wife? Oh. So you have a wife too. Then Aurora really is a serial homewrecker.”

The others immediately turned their furious eyes back on me, their looks even nastier than before.

“She’ll even go after men that old for money.”

“No wonder. Being the other woman is practically a habit for her.”

“Disgusting. I touched her earlier. Who knows what diseases she has?”

My father frowned deeply at the words.

Luca, however, went still.

He had clearly believed my father no longer cared about me, but now that he saw my father protecting me, panic finally got to him.

He spun toward Iris and stammered, “Stop talking. Let this go. Take Noah inside first.”

Iris had no idea what was happening, and unwilling to let it go, she pushed past him and looked at

me.
“My husband may not want to argue with you, but that doesn’t mean this is over.”

Then her eyes reddened. She pulled up the security footage from the villa doorway and handed it to

Luca.

“Luca, I didn’t want to tell you because I didn’t want to make things harder for you. But look. She hit me last night. My face is still red.”

Once the video appeared, the crowd became even angrier, pointing at my face and cursing.

“A mistress daring to hit the real wife? Where’s your shame?”

“You’re disgusting.”

“She’s just a maid. How is she this arrogant?”

Iris clutched her cheek and looked at Luca through tears, clearly expecting him to get angry for her.

Instead, Luca slapped the phone away in panic. “Why did you bring that out? Shut up.”

Iris jumped at his sudden roar, and tears rushed into her eyes. “Luca… why are you yelling at me? I know you’re just trying to keep this from blowing up. You don’t want our dirty laundry aired in public. But she hit me.”

She bit her lip and looked at him through tears.
