The Price of Betraying a Mafia Princess Chapter 01

The Price of Betraying a Mafia Princess Chapter 01

While my husband, Luca Davis, was in the shower, I happened to see a text light up his phone.

[Hello Kensington families, please bring your children to campus on time tomorrow for the first-day ceremony. Please don’t be late.]

I stared in shock.

Luca and I had been married for five years, and we didn’t have children.

Why would he get a message like that?

At first, I thought the school had sent it to the wrong number. Then a direct message came through.

[Noah’s dad, the children are going to love the playground you donated one million dollars to build. We’ve also prepared a special thank-you segment for you and Mrs. Davis. Please arrive a little early.]

Noah.

Wasn’t that the name of my husband’s secretary Iris Vale’s son?

I took a slow breath, put the phone back exactly where it had been, and texted my assistant.

[Pick me up tomorrow morning. We’re going to Kensington School.]

Who gave him the guts to cross a Don’s daughter?

A few minutes later, Luca came out wrapped in a towel.

He picked up his phone, checked it, and gave a barely noticeable smile.

Then his phone buzzed again.

He didn’t take the call. He only started getting dressed and said, “Honey, something urgent came up at the office. Don’t wait up for me tonight.”

I pretended I knew nothing, nodded, and even walked him to the door.

But after he left, I opened the location app on my phone.

The limited-edition Ferrari was an early fifth-anniversary gift I’d given him just last week. I hadn’t expected him to drive it to his mistress so soon.

Half an hour later, I followed the tracker to the most exclusive gated villa community in the city.

Luca parked outside one of the villas as if he’d done it a thousand times, and Iris came running out almost the second he stopped the car.

She threw herself into his arms and whined, “Luca, I sent Noah to my mom’s tonight just for you. Why are you so late?”

My breath caught.

So it really was her.

Then I heard a few homeowners talking as they strolled past.

“That young couple is so in love. They make noise every single night.”

“Right? I even saw them in their pool once…”

“These villas cost a hundred million apiece. I heard the man bought it outright and put it under his wife’s name. Young love. Don’t be jealous.”

A bitter laugh slipped out of me.

Six months ago, I’d found a brochure for this villa community in Luca’s bag.

Like an idiot, I’d been secretly happy, thinking he was planning to give me a new home for our fifth anniversary.

It turned out the house wasn’t for me. It was for Iris.

Before I could collect myself, I heard Luca’s affectionate voice.

“Didn’t I satisfy you enough in my office this morning? You missed me that badly?”

Iris patted his chest and teased, “Mrs. Davis must keep you on a tight leash, huh?”

Luca swept her into his arms. “What Mrs. Davis? You’re my Mrs. Davis. Besides, she’s never been as tight as you.”

So that was how he humiliated me.

I had prepared myself for betrayal, but hearing those words with my own ears still made my heart twist.

When Luca first met me, he was a poor nobody with nothing to his name.

My father, Don Vincenzo Moretti, head of the Moretti family, had people dig into Luca’s background and disliked him immediately.

To stay with Luca, I agreed to let my father marry Vivian Moretti.

My father saw how deeply I loved Luca and, in the end, stopped opposing us.

After accepting Vivian as my stepmother, guilt drove me to my mother’s grave, where I knelt for an entire night.

And this was what I got in return: betrayal and humiliation.

I took out my phone, snapped a few photos of the villa, and sent them to my private investigator and family lawyer.

If I could turn Luca into a rising business star, I could make him lose everything just as easily.
