The Intern Punishes Her Billionaire Boss Chapter 04 You Are Fired

Her words were a direct hit to the core concerns of someone in a position of power.

I knew that in the three years since Julian took the reins of the company, his prime objective had been to prove himself, shed the shadow of my influence, and establish his own unassailable authority. Ivy was merely a pawn in his game to reshape the company and eliminate any potential opposition. And I, the relic of the previous era, was an obvious target.

Sure enough, Julian’s eyes turned to ice. He stared at me, enunciating each word. “Rules are rules. Once established, they apply to everyone. Scarlett, as a long-standing employee, you should be setting an example. Ivy was merely doing her job. She’s in the right.”

“So, what now?” I asked.

“So, the three – thousand – dollar fine stands. Additionally, for publicly defying your superior and refusing to cooperate, your monthly bonus is forfeited. I want a one – thousand – word written apology on my desk by tomorrow morning.” Julian’s tone brooked no argument.

The office fell silent as a tomb. Everyone was stunned by the severity of the punishment. This was more than just a disciplinary measure; it was a blatant humiliation.

Ivy’s face lit up with undisguised glee. She looked at me like I was a vanquished foe, a once – proud figure now reduced to rubble.

I looked at Julian, the man I’d once trusted implicitly, almost like a younger brother. Any lingering affection I’d felt for him evaporated in the face of this cold-blooded judgment.

I let out a bitter laugh. “Julian, what if I don’t write this apology?”

His eyes flashed dangerously. “Then you can hand in your resignation. Dreamscape has no place for employees who can’t follow the rules.”

“Fire me?” I let out a disbelieving laugh and slowly rose to my feet, locking eyes with him. “Julian, are you certain you have the power to do that?”

“As the CEO of this company, I’d say I have every right to fire an ordinary employee,” he retorted, his temper flaring at my defiance.

“Ordinary employee?” I shook my head, a mocking smile playing on my lips. “It seems three years at the helm have made you forget who really owns this company.”

My voice, though soft, carried like a thunderclap through the quiet office.

Julian’s pupils dilated in shock. Ivy’s smile froze on her face.

Without giving him a chance to respond, I swept my gaze across the room and declared, loud and clear, “I, as the founder and chairperson of Dreamscape Design, am hereby informing you –

“Julian, you, and your special assistant Ivy, are terminated.”
