Julian was right.

I really was “wicked”.

I had been pampered and arrogant since I was a child, always wanting the best of everything.

Naturally, that included men.

They had to be pure, loyal, handsome, and fit.

I first noticed Julian at the University’s convocation ceremony.

He stood on the stage giving a speech, looking cold and aloof.

He was tall, upright, and had an air of pride.

I thought he would be an excellent “plaything”.

It just so happened that his family was struggling financially, which gave me my opening.

After he became my “canary”, I treated him like a servant, lashing out at him whenever things didn’t go my way.

If I saw him speak even a single word to another girl, physical punishments were common.

Slaps, belts, literal chains…

But he was actually the lost heir to an Old Money estate.

I shuddered at the thought of the “bankrupt” ending.

I knew very well which was more important in men or money.

To buy a gift for Julian, I stayed up all night.

It wasn’t until dawn that I picked out a designer men’s necklace that fit my aesthetic.

In the morning, someone had the nerve to enter my room.

“Time to wake up”.

Being woken up filled me with morning grumpiness.

With my eyes closed, I grabbed a pillow and hurled it at the intruder.

“Get out!”

“What are you making noise for so early?”

The person went silent for a moment before saying quietly:

“I just wanted to remind you that you have an early lecture”.

Hearing that familiar, magnetic voice, I suddenly snapped out of it.

I opened my eyes.

Sure enough, comments were scrolling behind Julian:

I scrambled out of bed and ran to Julian to pick up the pillow.

“I know, I know, I’ll go to class today”.

“I just hit you… I’m so sorry, does it hurt?”

Julian’s expression became quite strange.

He thought for a moment, then seemed to reach a resigned conclusion.

He deliberately leaned his left cheek toward me:

“If you’re going to slap me, just do it”.

“The pillow hit the right side. Do you want it to be symmetrical?”

What the fuck… what are you hallucinating now?

I closed my eyes and explained exhaustedly:

“I wasn’t trying to hit you…”

Julian suddenly clicked his tongue.

He grabbed my waist, lifted me up, and sat me on the edge of the bed.

Then, frowning, he began putting my slippers on for me.

He grumbled sarcastically:

“No socks, no shoes. What, are you going to blame me when you catch a cold later?”

Julian knelt beside me in a posture of complete submission.

I realized what was happening and immediately pulled my ankle out of his hand.

“I can do it myself”.

Julian’s hand stayed suspended in the air for a long time.

He slowly stood up and said expressionlessly:

“Fine. I’ll help you get ready then”.

“By the way, hurry up, you’re going to be late…”

No. I couldn’t treat Julian like a manservant anymore.
