They Loved Their White Moonlight, Till I Disappeared Forever Chapter 12

Matteo opened the door. Seraphina, Merritt, Zane, and Brennan were all standing outside.

“Seraphina opened a retreat in the Catskills these past four years. It’s very good for helping people find calm. Even the most extreme cases come back completely changed.”

Merritt’s voice was laced with a hypocritical helplessness. “Go on. Death doesn’t solve anything. If you’ve done wrong, you have to be punished.”

I wanted to shake my head, but I couldn’t move my neck an

inch.

Brennan stepped forward and lifted me into his arms.

“Helena, you’re still as light as when we were kids. Once you

get there, stop with the scheming and eat more. I’ll still be

able to carry you even if you gain weight.”

My stomach churned. I wanted to vomit, but I couldn’t even

manage that.

Zane leaned against the doorframe, his eyes red again.

“Helena, you lied to me again. I won’t hold it against you this time. When you come back, just… don’t be like this anymore.”

I stared at him, my eyes wide, but not a single word would

come out.

Seraphina’s eyes curved into a smile.

“It’s all right. My sister will understand our good intentions. The retreat doesn’t allow male visitors, so Brennan just needs

to put her in the car. I’ll personally take her from there.”
