I Kidnapped The Mafia Don, Tied Him To My Bed Chapter 04

Back in school days, Caspian Ferretti was a gentleman to me.

Polite. Easy to joke with.

His family moved into the mansion next door right when my parents were divorcing. He watched them dump me in the house. Then never show up again.

I sat on the front steps crying. He handed me tissues and juice.

I was seriously depressed for a while after getting abandoned. He brought me food from his house during the day. Tutored me at night.

Then introduced me to his parents.

Maren and Victor were good to me. Like parents. Later I learned Victor Ferretti was the previous Don. Ran half the underworld in this city.

But they never acted like mafia with me.

Especially Maren. Shopping for clothes, she’d pick stuff for me too. Have Caspian deliver it to my door.

I was shy about it.

But Maren always smiled and patted my shoulder. “Don’t be shy, Zoya. I always wanted a daughter. We click. I see something that suits you, I have to buy it.”

When Caspian walked me home, he’d ruffle my hair and grin. “Mom just likes you. Take whatever she gives you. We know you don’t need the money.”

True.

My parents never skimped on living expenses. But they both seemed to see me as a reminder of their failed marriage. So neither wanted to look at me again.

The Ferretti family was like warm sunlight cutting through my dark days.

His parents treated me like their kid.

I knew they were good people.

I knew they pitied me.

And now I’d tied up their son. The head of the Ferretti family.

Did I feel guilty?

I shook my head.

Not at all.

If he didn’t want to be here, I couldn’t make him. His skills? Ten of me wouldn’t be a match.

Maybe someone thought I was lying to myself? Come on. I had brain cancer. Cut me some slack.

…

Day four, I spiked a fever. Started vomiting.

Caspian came in wondering why I hadn’t made breakfast. Found me curled under the blankets. “Zoya, what’s wrong?”

He touched my forehead. “You’re burning up.”

I pushed him away. “Leave me alone.”

He lifted me in his arms. “I’m taking you to the hospital.”

I grabbed the sheets in a death grip. “I’m not going.”

“Zoya! What the hell is wrong with you!”

I clutched the sheets and cried. Consciousness already blurring. “If we leave this door, you’re gone…”

I felt him pulling at my hand. “I promise. I’ll stay with you. Won’t go anywhere.”

“I’m not leaving!”

When I opened my eyes again, I was still home.

Caspian sat by the bed. Talking on the phone low. Sounded like family business.

An IV dripped into my hand.

I knew Caspian had called his private doctor. The Ferretti family medical team. Core members only.

I was relieved we were still at home. He wouldn’t figure anything out.

At the same time, I knew I had to let him go.

He was busy. Running the family business by phone and laptop daily. The dark circles under his eyes getting worse.

He noticed I was awake. Hung up fast.

“Awake?”

“Yeah. How long was I out?”

“Slept the whole day. Fever broke, though.”

I nodded. Watched the last drops finish.

The doctor pulled the needle and left.

“Don Ferretti, I’ll return tomorrow.”

I pulled my bandaged hand from Caspian’s grip. “I’m fine. You can go.”

Caspian raised a brow. “Go where? Done with me so you’re tossing me back to the guest room?”

I forced a smile. “No. You’re free. Go anywhere you want.”

Caspian froze. Then stormed out. Slammed the door so hard the walls shook.

I knew he was pissed.

I’d wanted to make it to day seven. But I’d gotten enough.

The journey mattered more than the destination.

If I kept selfishly holding Caspian, I’d go to hell when I died.
