After I Lost My Memory, My Star Athlete Boyfriend Said We Broke Up Chapter 04

Camille met his gaze, fell silent for two seconds, then smiled. “Why do you care whether I’ve forgotten you? Am I that important to you?”

Killian’s features froze briefly.

He quickly smirked, his tone turning icy. “Important? Don’t flatter yourself. I just hate being tricked by someone faking amnesia. If you really lost your memory, stay that way.”

“Don’t come crawling back later claiming your memories returned. It’ll look pathetic.”

The smile faded completely from Camille’s face. The comment stream rushed forward.

[That’s brutal! She’s his girlfriend, not his enemy!]

[If he accuses her of faking it, does that mean he secretly hopes she remembers everything? All these harsh words are just him hiding how much he cares!]

[I agree! If he truly didn’t care, he wouldn’t block her here to say all this.]

[Camille, forgive him. He’ll make everything right once he realizes his mistakes!]

Camille watched him walk away without hesitation, and that familiar, inexplicable tightness gripped her chest again.

She saw no sign of care in his actions. Even if some flicker of affection lingered, she wanted nothing to do with it.

For the next several days, Camille stayed away from the training ground and avoided any unnecessary contact with Killian. She only learned he’d scored a hat trick in the latest match from online news.

Business still needed handling, though. The better Killian performed, the more brand offers poured in. Camille shortlisted several reputable sponsors and headed to the training facility with the cooperation proposals.

The team had just finished practice when she arrived; players lingered on the grass drinking water and chatting.

As Camille stepped onto the pitch, Killian called out. “Camille, bring that crate of water here.”

She glanced down. A full unopened crate of bottled water, weighing at least sixty pounds.

She looked toward the grounds staff. “Could one of you bring that over…”

Killian cut her off before she finished, loud enough for everyone nearby to hear clearly. “I want you to bring it.”

The live comments panicked instantly.

[Wait—Is he serious? Making her haul a full crate of water alone?]

[He’s trying to make her submit! If she softens and pleads with him, he’ll rush over to help!]

[He wouldn’t even let her carry her purse alone before, and now he’s forcing her to lift heavy cargo?]

[Don’t forget she hurt her lower back once. Is he intentionally hurting her, or has he truly forgotten everything?]

Camille stared at him in disbelief.

Killian’s expression remained flat, not a single twitch of emotion. His teammates watched quietly from his side, none daring to speak up.

Camille took several deep breaths. She bent down, lifted the crate, and hauled it across the grass to stand in front of him.

Killian twisted open a bottle, took one sip, and set it aside. He spoke casually. “Maren left her bag in the locker room. You’re free, go fetch it for her.”

Maren waved her hand in fake politeness. “Don’t trouble Camille, I can get it myself.” Yet she didn’t move an inch.

Killian’s gaze bore into her, his voice cooling. “Are you going?”

Camille said nothing, simply staring straight at him. Everyone on the sidelines held their breath; even the live comments fell quiet.

Then Camille laughed, her eyes cold as ice.

“Killian.” Her voice carried far enough for everyone to hear. “I am your agent. Not your personal assistant, and definitely not some toy for you to demonstrate control over. I gave you a chance to save face. Don’t push your luck.”

Killian’s face turned storm-dark.

Camille didn’t spare him another glance as she walked away, coolly assessing how any brand could possibly want such an arrogant man as their spokesperson.

Once home, her old back injury flared up. She could barely stand.

She lay on her stomach with a heating pad pressed against her back when she spotted a headline online: Killian Lynn dines with another top soccer agent.

The headline left no room for ambiguity: Manchester United star meets elite sports broker—Is Killian Lynn splitting from agent Camille Logan?
