I arrived to find Chloe deep in conversation with an investor, her face lit up with certainty.

If this show succeeded, she’d be the youngest celebrated painter around her future wide open.

The moment she saw me, that smile froze on her face.

“Nora. What are you-

I ignored her, and had my people set up a memorial altar right there in the gallery.

Black draping. White banners. Funeral music.

I placed Grandma’s urn on a raised platform.

The bright, elegant gallery transformed instantly into a funeral hall.

Daniel’s face was thunderous.

“Nora, what exactly are you doing? You’d use Grandma’s death as a lie just to ruin Chloe’s exhibition?”

I walked past him and stepped into the center of the lobby. Every eye in the room turned to me.

“Ladies and gentlemen. Chloe Sinclair committed intentional harm resulting in death. She had an affair with

my husband. And she’s forcing me into divorce.”

“Do you still want to buy her paintings?”

A ripple of whispers ran through the crowd. Every gaze on Chloe shifted, suspicious now.

“Have you lost your mind? What exactly do you want?!”

Daniel’s voice dropped low, his face twisted with strain.

I raised my hand and slapped him-twice.

“That’s for Grandma-for what you owed her and never paid.”

“And that’s for me–for every ounce of love you threw away.’

Daniel stood there dazed, clutching his cheek.

It wasn’t until Chloe screamed and rushed over to check his injury that he snapped out of it – his expression

instantly darkening with rage.

“What exactly do you want?!”

“Obviously, I want to make you pay.’”

I laughed coldly, turned, and pulled up the slide deck on my flash drive.

“Everyone here, I’m Daniel Ashford’s investment coordinator.”

“I’ve spent five years landing him funding, I’ve made a hundred of proposals for him.”

“But I never once thought I’d end up making one about my own husband cheating with his mentor’s

daughter.”

Chloe was crying now, wiping her eyes, hatred flashing across her face.

“Nora, don’t say things like that. Daniel and I have nothing to hide.”

“I know you resent me because Daniel always looks out for me. But that’s only because my father did so

much for him. He’s just repaying the debt.”

“I’ll never see him again if that’s what it takes. You’re destroying our reputations!”

She cried like her heart was breaking.

Daniel pulled her behind him protectively, glaring at me like he wanted to devour me whole.

I just kept scrolling calmly through the slides until I reached a photo of the two of them, close and intimate.

“This is what you call-nothing to hide?”

I pointed to the mark on Daniel’s neck.

“Last night, while Grandma was dying, the two of you were in bed together.”

The crowd’s expressions shifted to contempt in an instant.

Daniel yanked at his collar, trying to cover it, and failed.

He used to hate it whenever I left even a faint mark on him during intimacy. He’d complain about it for days.

That mark on his neck, so obvious—it could only have come from Chloe.

Chloe lunged for the flash drive. I shoved her hand away.

Daniel’s voice softened, pleading.

“Nora, whatever this is, let’s talk when we get home. You’re going to ruin me.”

I laughed coldly.

“I called you at Grandma’s funeral. You said we’d talk later. Isn’t now later enough?”

“Since I did as you asked, I might as well finish.”

I kept scrolling-transfer screenshots, chat logs, all of it laid bare.

The crowd gasped and murmured.

The friends who’d come with me were already itching to step in. I held them back.

“Miss Sinclair… is this true?” The investor’s face had gone dead serious, staring at Chloe.

“No- of course not. She fabricated all of this!”

“Don’t believe her! Nora has delusional disorder!

Chloe grabbed at Daniel, eyes darting, panicked.

“If you don’t believe me, ask her husband”

“Chloe, you’re lying! I never-”

Daniel cut me off.

He looked at me apologetically, then pulled up a diagnosis report on his phone.

“This is my wife’s psychiatric evaluation.”

“She really does suffer from delusional disorder.”
