The Entire Pack Chose My Alpha’s First Love, So I Canceled the Luna Ceremony Chapter 01

“Who should wear the Luna Crown and become the next Luna of Frostvale Pack?”

The day before the Luna Ceremony, I found a poll pinned in Alpha Joseph’s group chat.

Option A: The woman who stood by the Alpha through his darkest days. Madison Ashford.

Option B: The Alpha’s first love, who waited eight years for him. Aurora Vale.

I had walked beside him through fifteen years of struggle and sacrifice. But all fifty core members of Frostvale Pack, every single one, chose B.

Including Margaret, the former Luna who had always told me I was the most fitting candidate. Including my twin sister Lyra Ashford, who had spent every evening with me going over the Ceremony details.

They mocked my fifteen years of devotion like it meant nothing, all while scheming to help Aurora steal the Luna Crown the next day.

Joseph, to his credit, did drop one message in the chat:

[Don’t make it too ugly. Madison can’t handle that kind of shock.]

But he didn’t stop them. He didn’t even try. Instead, he used a midnight patrol as his excuse and headed straight to Aurora’s apartment.

At three in the morning, he pulled Aurora into his arms. She was wearing my custom Luna gown. He leaned down and kissed her.

Everyone was waiting at the pack hall to watch me get replaced in real time.

My mother tried to calm me down. “Every Alpha wavers before he officially names his Luna. Just get through the Ceremony first.”

My best friend Lucia grabbed my hand and held it tight, stopping me from tearing off the Luna Veil and walking out.

I smiled.

Then I pulled up the hall’s projector and threw the group chat screenshots and the kiss video onto the big screen.

“Since all of you chose B, then I, option A, am done playing along.”

Silence.

The poll screenshots rolled across the screen. The plan to steal the Luna Crown. The video of the kiss. One after another.

The final image froze on Aurora, wrapped in Joseph’s arms, wearing my gown.

The Elders’ faces went rigid. Someone coughed. Joseph finally snapped out of it.

“Madison, have you lost your mind?”

One look from him and Beta Mark rushed to kill the projector. Joseph turned to face the crowd in the pack hall, a practiced smile already curving his lips. “My Luna played a little prank on me. This is all AI-generated. Nobody take it seriously.”

The core members nodded along instantly, falling over themselves to back him up.

“That’s so messed up, Madison! How could you make something like this up?”

“We’ve never even been in a group chat like that! You’re slandering innocent people!”

“Seriously, Luna, this joke went way too far. You need to apologize to Aurora right now!”

Their voices piled on top of each other, louder and louder. Then my own sister walked up onto the stage.

“Everyone, please don’t take this seriously. My sister’s been emotionally unstable lately.”

She turned to me, scolding me in front of the entire hall.

“Madison, haven’t you caused enough drama at home? It’s one thing to be paranoid on your own, but how is Aurora supposed to live in this Pack after what you just did?”

“I get that you’re scared of becoming Luna, and that’s pitiful, but that doesn’t give you the right to drag someone else’s name through the mud. Apologize to Aurora. Now.”

Just like that, she branded me as the hysterical one. My wolf thrashed beneath my skin.

The pack members who might have felt sorry for me a moment ago immediately bought it. Of course it was me causing trouble. Of course.

This was my own sister.

She had been helping me set up the bridal suite just yesterday, arranging the wedding favors. But when that poll went up, she hadn’t hesitated for a second before choosing B.

Lyra lowered her voice, leaning close.

“It’s just a ceremony, Madison.”

“Aurora waited eight years for Joseph. That wasn’t easy either. So what if she takes the title once? You’ve already formed a Mate Bond with him.”

“Madison, don’t be so difficult.”

My mother came up next, tugging at my sleeve.

“Madison, that’s enough. Quit while you’re ahead. Don’t give people more to laugh about.”

Joseph had looked almost guilty for a moment, but the second he heard Aurora’s reputation might suffer, his expression turned to ice.

He stared at me, barely containing his anger. “Madison, are you done?”

“Even your own mother and sister are saying the same thing. That should tell you something about how you’ve been acting.”

“But you shouldn’t have done this at the Luna Ceremony.”

“Silvermoon Pack’s nobility is here tonight for the alliance signing. You pull a stunt like this, and how is Aurora supposed to show her face after today?”

I looked right back at him. “What about me?”

“If Aurora had actually stolen my Luna Crown, how was I supposed to show my face?”

He blinked.

“But she didn’t steal it.”

He recovered fast.

“Madison, I know you’re upset.”

“But you know me. Aurora is nothing but guilt to me.”

“That kiss was her throwing herself at me. She waited eight years. Iowed her some kind of closure.”

“But I promise you, my Luna will only ever be you.”

He pinned everything on Aurora, then reached up the way he always did, about to ruffle my hair to calm me down.

I stepped back.

“Joseph, the Luna Ceremony is canceled. Our Mate Bond ends here.”

I turned and walked away.

He didn’t follow.

He actually sighed with relief.

“Fine.”

“Cool off for a few days. When you’ve thought it through, we’ll talk.”
