I Bought the Wrong Beastman, and He Begged Me to Keep Him Chapter 01

I bought an intimacy-class hybrid called Adrian Ashford, and I couldn’t keep my hands off him.

But he never wanted that. “Are you done? I’m not in the mood. Just stop.”

It stung, but I brushed it off.

That was until the agency called me in a panic.

[Ms. Caldwell, we made a terrible mistake. The Maine Coon hybrid you bought is actually a companion-class hybrid—he can only provide companionship and has no inclination for further intimacy!]

[If a hybrid is kept in the wrong role, they can develop deep resentment toward their owner and even have a complete stress-induced breakdown… Please let us swap him out for you!]

I said yes without thinking.

The next day, a new hybrid showed up at my door, a golden-shaded cat hybrid with big doe eyes and a desperate, clingy sweetness, the kind who looked adorable and perfect.

“Ms. Caldwell, here’s your new intimacy-class hybrid. Have fun.”

“Where’s the Maine Coon? We’ll need to take him back.”

The bowl Adrian had been drying slipped from his hand and shattered against the floor.

All the color drained from his face.

“No!”

“That’s twice this week.”

Adrian shoved me back. His expression was stone cold, but the tips of his ears had gone bright red.

My back hit the cold tile wall, and a shiver ran through me.

He stood there gripping the towel hanging loose around his hips, water still beading down the pale line of his throat. His Adam’s apple dipped, the skin around it flushed pink, looking like he was trying to ruin me on purpose.

But those gray-and-white cat ears stood stiffly upright, and his expression screamed don’t touch me.

Before today, I wouldn’t have stopped. I would’ve kissed every inch of him anyway.

I would’ve pushed harder just to watch him break.

“Please. You’re mine. Don’t pretend you don’t want this.”

“Such a brat. Always playing hard to get.”

“Pink lips, pink paws, pink everywhere… I’m gonna kiss every single spot until you can’t think straight.”

But right then, it hit me like a bucket of ice water.

Every spark of desire inside me died.

All I could hear was what the agency had said that afternoon.

Adrian resented me.

I swallowed hard and looked at him, still clutching that towel like I was something to fear.

“Fine. You don’t want this? Then we won’t.”

His head snapped up. His eyes went wide.

“What did you say?!”
