He Streamed My Fifth Abortion For Her Chapter 02

He Streamed My Fifth Abortion For Her Chapter 02

The next morning, Damien walked into my hospital room carrying a bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup.

He raised the head of my hospital bed until I was sitting upright.

After blowing gently across a spoonful to cool it, he held it to my lips.

“Eat a little.”

“You need to keep your strength up.”

“Tomorrow’s procedure will be hard on your body.”

His eyes were warm.

His movements were impossibly gentle.

It was as if the man who had calmly discussed livestreaming my abortion the night before had never existed.

I opened my mouth and swallowed.

The broth was rich and comforting.

The chicken had been simmered until it practically melted apart.

I looked up at him.

Carefully testing the waters, I asked,

“Damien… do we really have to go through with this?”

His hand paused for just a second.

“The spiritual advisor already made his decision.”

“What if he looked again?”

I tightened my grip on the blanket.

“Maybe… maybe this baby is different.”

Damien set the bowl aside and took both of my hands.

His thumb slowly stroked the back of mine.

“I know how badly you want this baby.”

“I do too.”

“But he’s never changed one of his readings.”

He sighed as though this burden weighed on him even more than it weighed on me.

“You’ll be under general anesthesia.”

“You’ll go to sleep…”

“And when you wake up, it’ll all be over.”

General anesthesia.

The exact same words he’d said to Caleb.

[“She won’t know a thing. I’ll just play the grieving husband again afterward.”]

I looked into his eyes.

The sorrow there looked flawless.

His performance was flawless too.

I lowered my gaze.

“Okay.”

“I’ll do what you think is best.”

Damien kissed my forehead.

“That’s my good girl.”

That afternoon, Damien left to handle paperwork.

I wandered into the hallway for some fresh air.

As I rounded a corner, I heard his voice near the elevators.

“Easy.”

“There’s a bump.”

I peeked around the wall.

Damien was carefully pushing a wheelchair out of the elevator.

The woman sitting in it wore a flowing white dress.

Long dark hair framed a delicate profile.

She looked up at him and smiled.

Damien smiled back.

I’d never seen that expression on his face before.

There was light in his eyes.

Real light.

He said softly,

“Tomorrow, during Clara’s procedure, I’ll video call you from the operating room.”

“You can watch from the car downstairs.”

Vivian reached up and gently touched his cheek.

“Good.”

“One last time.”

“It’s been three years.”

“That’s enough.”

I stepped back behind the wall.

Four tiny lives.

Enough.

Once the fifth was gone…

She would finally be satisfied.

After Damien escorted Vivian back to the elevator, he returned toward my room.

I hurried back into bed and pretended to be asleep.

He checked on me before quietly leaving again.

The moment the door clicked shut, I threw on a coat and headed downstairs.

The black luxury SUV was still parked in the hospital garage.

One rear window was cracked open.

Vivian sat in the back, still in her wheelchair, scrolling through her phone.

I knocked lightly on the glass.

She looked up.

Surprise flashed across her face before melting into an amused smile.

She studied me with open curiosity.

And pity.

“So you’re Clara Harrington.”

“You look even more exhausted than I imagined.”

I ignored the remark.

“You’re Vivian.”

She didn’t deny it.

Instead, she leaned comfortably against her seat and folded her hands across her lap.

“What are you doing here?”

“Were you hoping to beg me to spare the baby you’re carrying?”

I met her eyes calmly.

“I only came to ask you one question.”

“Do you really love Damien?”

Her smile faltered.

I continued.

“For three years, you’ve made him kill four of my children.”

“You’ve drained his savings supporting you.”

“You’ve destroyed his marriage.”

“If you truly loved him…”

“How could you do this to him?”

Her expression instantly turned cold.

“What happens between Damien and me is none of your business.”

“Tomorrow’s procedure is happening exactly as planned.”

“You’ll cooperate.”

“This is the last time.”

Her gaze drifted to my stomach.

A smile slowly curled across her lips.

“And if you don’t cooperate…”

“I took four babies from you.”

“I can take the fifth.”

The wind whipped my hair across my face.

She remained inside the warm luxury vehicle.

Comfortable.

Protected.

Untouchable.

Suddenly I asked,

“Vivian…”

“The day you jumped off that roof…”

“Was it really because of Damien?”

Something flickered across her face.

I added quietly,

“Or was it because of Ethan Rhodes?”

Her pupils contracted instantly.

The color drained from her face.

“What… did you just say?”

“Ethan Rhodes.”

“Your boyfriend in college.”

My voice remained perfectly steady.

“The day you jumped…”

“He had just broken up with you.”

“It had nothing to do with Damien.”

Her hands started trembling around the wheelchair armrests.

“You’re lying.”

I looked straight into her eyes.

“Damien doesn’t even know Ethan exists.”

“He honestly believes you tried to kill yourself because of him.”

“He’s spent three years drowning in guilt.”

“He became your ATM.”

“Your executioner.”

“All because you let him.”

“You weren’t heartbroken over Damien.”

“You were dumped by another man.”

“You broke your spine.”

“And then you decided to make me pay the price.”

Vivian’s face twisted with fury.

“Shut up!”
