I Lost 90 Pounds, Only To Find He Tried To Give Me Away Chapter 09

Nolan showed up at the campus BJJ club. I couldn’t believe this guy.

He grinned at me like the last conversation had never happened. A full-blown smirk, zero shame.

“Oh, fancy seeing you here, Miss Winslow.”

Nolan didn’t know the first thing about grappling.

In the year and change we’d been together, I’d learned he surfed at Coral Bay every summer and skied

Pinecrest Peaks every winter.

Not once had he mentioned stepping on a mat.

“Think you could teach me a thing or two, Miss Winslow?” His eyes drifted down my legs and stayed there.

If he wanted to walk into this, fine. I’d give him exactly what he was asking for.

I looked at him without blinking. “Sure.”

He was exactly as bad as I expected. The second he stepped onto the mat, I swept his leg and sent him

stumbling back.

He blinked, then smiled and reset his stance.

“You’re stronger than you look.”

He was treating this like a game. He reached for my wrist, lazy, casual, like we were flirting.

I sidestepped, caught his forearm, and drove my hip into the motion. His whole body wrenched sideways,

and his knee smacked against the mat.

He hissed through his teeth.

The smirk finally dropped off his face.

I didn’t give him time to recover. I dropped low and pressed forward.

He tried to stand, but my leg was already sweeping his supporting foot out from under him. He went down

hard.

I was on him before he could roll, my legs locking around his neck and arm.

Triangle choke.

The veins at Nolan’s temples bulged.

He stared up at me, wide-eyed, like he couldn’t believe I’d actually go this far.

I waited for him to tap out. Instead, his face, trapped between my thighs, slowly turned red. And not from the chokehold.

Those bedroom eyes locked onto mine. Dark. Heated.

Was he seriously enjoying this right now?

Anger shot through me. I squeezed harder and leaned down.

“Had enough, Ashford?”

He made a low, muffled sound, but wouldn’t tap. If anything, he looked like he was enjoying it more.

My skin crawled. I let go of him and wiped my hands on my pants.

I felt gross, and I was the one who’d had him in a hold.

Nolan didn’t even bother getting up. He just lay there on the mat, breathing hard.

“Stay away from me. Next time, I won’t stop.”

He just turned his head on the mat and smiled at me.

“Tessa, I think I like you even more now.”

Oh my God. He was actually insane.
