After My Last Rewind, They Begged Me to Stay Chapter 07

Weston struck her across the face.

She toppled sideways onto the bed, half her face swelling instantly.

Nathaniel looked down at her.

“From the beginning… so you’re not Nolan’s daughter. Who are you, really?”

Nolan was Nathaniel’s subordinate-the man who’d taken the Calloway name.

Sienna cradled her cheek, blood still on her lips.

She hung her head-and then began to laugh. The laugh grew louder and louder.

“Nolan’s daughter?”

She lifted her head, half her swollen face turned toward them, eyes brimming with mockery.

“That girl was swapped out a long time ago!”

Weston lunged and seized her by the throat.

“Who’s behind this, you bitch?!”

Choking, her face flushing red, Sienna managed,

“There’s no shortage of people who want to bring the Calloways down. Take your pick.”

Nathaniel pulled Weston back.

“You knew about Eleanor’s ability.”

Sienna rubbed her throat.

“Your family’s rise was too sudden-like you always knew what was coming. Someone was bound to notice

eventually.”

“So I was sent to look into it. And if the opportunity arose-to drive a wedge between you.”

Since there was clearly no point hiding it anymore, Sienna’s tone grew looser, almost relaxed.

“The necklace and the bracelet -I planted both of those in Nathaniel’s room myself.”

“I knew you’d all blame her for it without asking a single question.”

She leaned against the wall, her eyes sweeping slowly across their faces.

“I thought it would take real effort to turn you all against each other. Turns out it was almost too easy,”

Weston drove his fist into the wall beside her.

Sienna laughed coldly and kept going.

“The suicide? Please. I wouldn’t even scratch myself. Just put on a show.”

“I didn’t expect you’d all believe it without checking a single thing.”

“Let me guess. You forced her to kill herself so she’d rewind and save me?”

Sienna laughed so hard she could barely stand straight.

“And instead, she actually died.”

Nathaniel couldn’t hold back anymore. He struck her across the face.

“Bitch! I’ll kill you for what you did to Eleanor!”

“Kill me?” Sienna repeated, as if she’d just heard the punchline of a joke.

“Her murderers are standing right in front of me.”

The three Calloway brothers stood frozen.

“I never left this room. What does her death have to do with me?”

Her tone dripped with contempt.

“Let’s set aside whether death-rewinding is even real-that’s something only Eleanor herself would know for

certain.”

“And now that she’s dead, there’s no one left to ask.”

Weston roared, “Eleanor only died because she ran out of rewinds!”

“Even more interesting, then.” Sienna shook her head in exaggerated disbelief.

“She was your own sister, and you were willing to let her die over and over-until she ran completely out?”

“I can’t even imagine how many times you drove her to her death.”

The three brothers completely unraveled.

Weston lunged at her with a scream, ready to kill her on the spot.

Sienna’s smile only widened.

“My mission is already complete.”

“Your family-is finished.”

That was when the wail of sirens rose outside.

Red and blue light flashing through the windows, casting their pale, wrecked faces in flickering color.
