My CEO Husband Let Her Ruin Our Wedding Live Chapter 02

My CEO Husband Let Her Ruin Our Wedding Live Chapter 02

I got home and locked myself in the bathroom.

I cried fast, hard, and quiet.

Then I washed my face, shut everything down, and got to work cleaning up the mess.

My boss tore into me the second I picked up.

“You turned your own wedding into a damn circus!”

“Those photos are everywhere. You’ve been trending for three hours straight. Every brand partner is calling me. Terminations, penalties, lawsuits, one after another.”

“Do you have any idea how much this is going to cost?”

The call turned into a full meeting.

It didn’t end until four in the morning.

The apartment was dark.

The only light came from the cigarette burning down between my fingers.

Nicotine took the edge off just enough for me to keep going.

I replayed the wedding footage again and again, rewriting the story in my head, figuring out what to say, how to soften the humiliation, how to turn something ugly into something people could scroll past.

How to package the tears.

How to make it sell.

“God…”

I let out a dry laugh and sank back into the couch.

The last time I felt this exhausted was when I was helping Stellan dig himself out of debt.

Back then, I was live almost nonstop, pushing through product after product until my skin broke out and my stomach couldn’t take it anymore.

All for same-day payouts.

All to take some of the pressure off him.

Later, my account took off.

Bigger numbers. Bigger deals.

And Stellan climbed back up with me.

The first thing he did?

He brought Lysette back into his life, set her up, and gave her everything.

And me?

I was still stuck in the same contract, grinding under the same pressure, living off promises from my boss and from him.

God, I was pathetic.

Fifteen years—gone in a blink. Half my life, all my youth, all my fire, all of it tied to Stellan Cross.

I picked up my phone and opened Lysette’s page. She had just posted about hitting two thousand days with him, celebrating with a seven-tier cake, fireworks lighting up the city, and some late-night fantasy show downtown.

Stellan only ever acted like that around her.

Playful. Soft. Alive.

With me, he always said it was childish.

A new post popped up.

[Couldn’t sleep. Stellan took me out to watch the stars.]

The photo was taken on a hilltop.

City lights stretched endlessly behind them.

He had her lifted up on his shoulders.

I blinked.

At some point, the tears slipped from my temples into my ears.

The updates kept coming.

[At the spa.]

They were leaning close together in a private hot spring.

[Breakfast made by Stellan.]

Eggs shaped like a little cat.

Morning crept in.

My phone lit up with a call.

Mom.

“Mirelle, did you sleep okay?”

“I’m fine, Mom.”

She hesitated.

“Mirelle… about your wedding yesterday…”

“It was staged,” I said, forcing a laugh.

My throat tightened as tears threatened again.

“Company setup. I was just following the script. I’m fine.”

She let out a breath.

“I knew it. Stellan would never treat you like that.”

I swallowed hard.

“Yeah.”

“He loves you more than anything. You need to hold on to that.”

“Yeah.”

The words stuck in my throat as the screen went dark, reflecting my face back at me, streaked with tears.

Mom.

The man who loved me the most… he was already gone.
