I Traveled Back Ten Years, Only to Witness His Love for Another Chapter 08

I was in bed when he got home.

He stumbled in drunk and flopped down, mumbling:

“Honey, why didn’t you make me any hangover soup today?”

Hangover soup? I was already showing restraint by not feeding him weed killer.

I didn’t want to share the bed, so I got up.

“You reek. I don’t like it.”

He whined: “What’s wrong, honey? You weren’t like this before.”

What was I supposed to be like? Nursing him all night?

I turned on the light.

The diary, filled with Ethan’s confessions of love, was still by the sofa.

It lay there, scattered open, waiting for him to find it.

But he was too drunk.

He fell asleep muttering Lily’s name, then a few “honeys,” and finally, “wife.”

He must’ve been having a happy dream—getting what he wanted.

I couldn’t accept it.

I slapped him.

He opened his eyes, bleary, rubbed against my palm, murmured: “I

miss you so much.”

He sounded like he meant it—great actor.

I almost fell for it for a lifetime.

Thank goodness—now I knew.

I was disgusted by his touch and pulled my hand back.

I sat on the sofa till morning.
