He Wouldn’t Marry a ‘Widow’ So I Left Him and His Brother Both Chapter 07

A sudden crash startled Toby’s family next door.

Toby’s father threw a cloak over his shoulders and opened the courtyard gate to look outside. The sight before him stopped him cold.

Under the moonlight, two identical male shifters were locked in an ugly brawl.

Toby’s mother tugged cautiously at her mate’s sleeve. “What’s going on? I asked you a question!”

She leaned out beside him, only for her eyes to widen in shock.

Ronan had Callum pinned beneath him, both hands locked around his brother’s throat. His eyes were red, and

he looked ready to tear Callum apart.

“Who gave you the right to fall for her?”

Callum’s face reddened as Ronan choked him.

He grabbed Ronan’s wrist but did not struggle. Instead, he glared back defiantly and forced out, “None of your

business. You were the one… who didn’t want her.”

“I never said I didn’t want her!” Ronan shouted.

The moment the words left his mouth, his confidence faltered.

“I just… hadn’t told her yet.”

Callum looked at how rattled his brother was and suddenly laughed.

Ronan stiffened at the mockery as jealousy and fury flashed through his eyes, and his grip tightened before

he could stop himself.

More color drained from Callum’s face, but there was still no fear in his gaze.

His lips curved as he said slowly and clearly, “I love her too. Just as much as you do.”

“Coward.”

Ronan’s fist whistled past Callum’s ear and slammed into the ground with a heavy thud.

Callum went still and looked up at his brother, who appeared to have tears in his eyes. Ronan loomed over

him with his jaw clenched.

“Damn it… Do you even realize whose identity you were using when you were with her?”

He stared down at the face that was identical to his own and suddenly laughed.

“Who the hell do you think you are?”

“For the past three years, Winter has only known Ronan. Callum never even existed to her!”

Callum’s eyes reddened at the provocation.

His hand curled into a fist, but before he could move, a voice cut through the silence.

“Says who?”

Both brothers turned toward Toby’s mother.

Her voice was icy.

“I was wondering why Winter suddenly decided to leave. Now I know. The two of you toyed with her for three

whole years.”

She jerked her chin toward the courtyard next door.

“What good is beating each other bloody out here? She already left with her cub.”

“L–Left?” Ronan’s face went white as he abruptly released Callum. “How could she have left?”

Callum stared blankly for a moment, then stumbled and scrambled into the courtyard on his hands and

knees.

He shoved the door open.

The dark house was completely empty. The only sound inside was his own breathing.

His feline eyes, sharp even in the dark, darted frantically around the room.

Callum dropped to the floor with a thud, bumping into Ronan as his brother rushed in behind him.

Winter had really taken Rory and left.
