I Agreed To Another Man After He Chose Her In The Collapse Chapter 08

“Celia, you… you’re messing with me, right?”

“Someone told me you’re getting married. This is just you trying to play games to make me jealous, right?”

He reached for my hand. I stepped back.

“Celia, stop this, okay? You look… God, you look so beautiful. We’ll get married. I’ll go back and talk to your

dad right now.”

“I’m not making anything up.”

I cut his rant off. He stared at me like I’d hit him.

He just stood there as I walked over to Everett and took his arm.

“This is my fiancé. We’re getting married next month.”

Nolan still wouldn’t believe it.

Then Everett turned and kissed me, right there in front of Nolan.

“We’re getting married. The sooner you accept that, the better.”

Nolan’s face was murderous. His eyes flicked between us.

Then he swung straight at Everett’s face.

Everett pushed me out of the way, but he didn’t even try to dodge. The punch caught him square.

I saw red. I grabbed a heavy wooden hanger from the rack and swung it at Nolan’s shoulder.

The second he realized I was the one hitting him, all the fight drained out of his face.

“Celia, how could you…”

I slapped him before he could finish.

“Get out of my face!”

“Don’t act like I don’t know about you and Vivian. I saw every photo you hid in that capsule.”

“And you have the nerve to show up here and question me?”

One slap wasn’t enough. I shoved him hard against the doorframe, hitting his chest again and again.

He didn’t dodge. Not once. By the time I stopped, his cheek was already bruising.

He waited until I was out of breath, then reached for me again. Everett pulled me back before his hand got

close.

I saw the red mark on Everett’s face, and my chest ached.

I just wanted to get him out of there and take care of that bruise.

“We’re buying the gown. Have it delivered to our address.”

Nolan stepped in front of the door before we could leave.

“Celia, you can’t leave.”

“You’ve known this guy for what, a week? You’re marrying him? If your dad knew…”

“My parents introduced him to me!”

Beside me, Everett didn’t even try to hide his smile.

Nolan wouldn’t move. I was about to lose it completely when a group of men in dark suits came running

from across the street.

Nolan could throw a punch, but he was outnumbered.

They had him on the ground in under a minute.

“Get off me! I’m the commander of Northbridge Base!”

“You have any idea who you’re holding down? Let go of me. Now!”

Nolan kept shouting. I turned away from him and looked at Everett.

He was perfectly calm. That quiet smile hadn’t moved an inch.

“You just assaulted a General. Confirm his identity and escort him back to Northbridge.”

Nolan was still cursing when Everett’s car pulled away.

I could hear him through the window, shouting that this wasn’t over.

In the car, I couldn’t stop fussing over his face. Before I could even ask if he was okay, he beat me to it.

“I’m fine,” he said, and his smile only got wider.

“You worrying about me like this? I kind of love it.”

“I never mentioned this, but I’m a general. So my future wife doesn’t need to worry about a thing.”

I blinked. A general. At his age. I hadn’t even come close to guessing.

I looked at the bruise darkening on his jaw, and something clicked.

“You’re the one who told Nolan about us, aren’t you?”

“And you’re the one who brought him to the shop today.”
