His Buddha Heart Crumbled For His Secret Wife Chapter 03

His Buddha Heart Crumbled For His Secret Wife Chapter 03

His fists slammed into my stomach again and again.

The pain was so intense that my body curled up instinctively.

My vision blurred, and my stomach churned violently.

Back then, I had just entered college.

That was when I fell for Nolan.

He had stood up for me when everyone else looked away.

“A scholarship student backed by the Vale family, and you still dare to bully her?”

With just one sentence, he ended the days when I was beaten and humiliated.

For three years, I was finally able to live peacefully.

And for those same three years, I secretly loved him.

When Evelyn Vale suggested that we get married, I agreed without hesitation.

Nolan didn’t object.

He only nodded impatiently.

I endured the pain and forced myself to speak.

“When we were… engaged…”

“You could have refused…”

“You said nothing…”

“No one forced you…”

“Shut up!”

He roared.

His large hand pressed down hard on my shoulder, forcing me lower.

“I told you.”

“Kneel.”

“Then use that mouth of yours and prove your loyalty.”

Just as he was about to force me onto my knees, the cracked phone lying on the floor suddenly vibrated again.

The ringtone annoyed Nolan.

He grabbed my face tightly.

“It’s that backup man of yours, isn’t it?”

“Perfect.”

“Let him hear everything.”

“Let him know you belong to me.”

His finger moved toward the answer button.

He must have figured out my location through the car tracker.

The moment the call connected, a man’s anxious voice came through.

“Claire…”

Just two words.

But Nolan instantly covered my mouth.

The expression on his face froze.

Because he knew that voice too well.

It was his uncle.

Adrian Vale.

Nolan ended the call immediately.

His fingers trembled from the force.

His face turned pale.

Fear spread across his features.

He suddenly turned toward his friends and the models.

“This is really my uncle.”

“Get out!”

“Now!”

Everyone panicked.

They rushed toward the employee exit, dragging me with them.

Their strength was overwhelming.

Every step they pulled me forward felt like my joints were being torn apart.

The rough ground scraped open my knees.

Blood slowly seeped from the wounds.

Just as we turned the corner, I heard a familiar voice behind me.

“Claire!”

The panic in his voice shattered my heart.

I wanted to answer.

But someone covered my mouth tightly.

All I could make were muffled sounds.

My tears fell uncontrollably onto the ground.

They dragged me deeper into the darkness.

That voice grew farther and farther away.

Until it disappeared completely.

Only after we reached an abandoned warehouse did Nolan finally remove the rope around my wrists.

The cold concrete floor pressed against my injured knees.

The pain shot through my wounds.

“Nolan Vale, let me go.”

“My uncle won’t forgive you.”

He didn’t touch me again.

He only stared at me coldly.

He looked at me like I was something he needed to investigate.

“What exactly is your relationship with my uncle?”

“And where did that photo come from?”

I leaned against the freezing wall.

My stomach still hurt.

My right hand had gone numb from the struggle.

But I forced myself to stay calm.

“He’s my husband.”

“I have the photo.”

“And those messages.”

“Isn’t that normal?”

Nolan’s pupils contracted.

The muscles on his face twitched.

It looked like he had just heard the funniest joke in the world.

The next second, he grabbed my chin.

His grip was so strong it felt like he was trying to crush my bones.

Pain filled my eyes with tears.

“Claire Bennett.”

“If you’re going to lie, at least choose someone believable.”

“My uncle is famous for his discipline.”

“He doesn’t even let women get close to him.”

“How could he possibly get involved with a married woman like you?”

“That photo was edited by you, wasn’t it?”

“Believe it or not.”

I endured the pain and spoke slowly.

“You can investigate.”

“You can ask him yourself.”

“Ask him whether he’ll admit I’m his wife.”

Nolan stared directly into my eyes.

He seemed to be searching for even the smallest sign of guilt.

But I didn’t look away.

I met his gaze.

After a moment, he suddenly released me.

He stepped back two steps.

“I’ll find out myself.”

“If you’re lying to me…”

“If you really found someone else…”
