I Said “I Do”… Then Woke Up at My Divorce Chapter 14

Vivian’s mind broke open.

The snowy garden disappeared.

She was back at the Ashford estate.

Dogs barked around her.

Hot tea poured over her skin.

A salt-soaked whip cut across her back.

The man saw her face change.

He put down the garden shears and walked toward her.

“Miss, are you all right?”

Vivian could not hear him.

She only saw Grayson coming closer.

“Stay away.”

The man stopped.

He looked confused.

“I won’t hurt you.”

“Don’t touch me.”

Vivian knocked his hand away and moved backward.

Her foot slipped on packed snow.

She fell onto the stone path.

Pain moved through her body.

Still, she pulled herself away from him.

“I didn’t push Lily.”

“I already got divorced.”

“Don’t take me back.”

The man crouched.

‘You’re hurt

I’ll call a doctor”

His closeness made Vivian panic more.

“Grayson Ashford, leave me alone.”

“My parents are dead.”

“Mrs. Warren is dead.”

“What else do you want?”

Nurses ran into the garden.

The doctor followed.

They moved around Vivian carefully.

“Ms. Mercer, look at me.”

“You’re at the clinic.”

“No one is taking you anywhere.”

“That man is not Grayson.”

Vivian could not hear them.

She stared at the man near the greenhouse.

Tears covered her face.

Her breathing became dangerous.

The doctor gave her a calming injection.

When Vivian woke, it was late at night.

The doctor sat beside the bed.

“Ms. Mercer, you scared us today.”

Vivian looked at the ceiling.

“He found me.”

The doctor waited before answering.

“No.”

Vivian turned her head.

“The man in the garden is not Grayson Ashford.”

“His name is Ethan Langford.”

“He is an American businessman.”

“The Langford Foundation helps pay for this clinic.”

“When Ethan visits Switzerland, he often works in the garden and spends time with patients.”

Vivian looked at him with doubt.

“You’re lying.”

“He looks exactly like Grayson.”

“I know.”

The doctor spoke gently.

“That is why your reaction was so strong.”

“But he is not Grayson.”

Vivian held the blanket tightly.

She did not believe him.

How could two men have the same face?

The doctor seemed to understand.

“If you ever want to see him again, I can arrange it.”

Vivian shook her head.

“No.”

“Then we won’t.”

The room became quiet.

Vivian did not sleep that night.

When she closed her eyes, she saw Grayson’s hand around her throat.

When she opened them, she saw the man in the garden.

They had the same face.

But they felt different.

Grayson’s coldness warned people to stay away.

The man in the garden had looked worried.

The next morning, the doctor came to check on her.

Vivian spoke.

“I want to see him.”
