Axel was waiting at the entrance of HQ. –

“Crest TV has officially cancelled the show citing gross misconduct by two participants.” He fell into step beside me and we walked in together.

“And the contracts?”

“The legal team is on it. Termination letters go out before midnight.”

“The fines for breach of contract?”

“The notice goes with the letters. The money in their agency accounts won’t even cover the fine amounts, pfft!” He scoffed. “They will have to sign a monthly payment agreement.”

“And the cars?”

“They’ll be collected once the termination letters are sent.”

I stopped walking and looked at him. I couldn’t believe he had already set everything up before I gave the order.

“You worked hard today, Axel. Thank you.”

He patted my back once. “Not as hard as you.” His hand moved to my shoulder, squeezing lightly, and I let out a long breath I didn’t know I was holding.

It had been a really long day.

The next day, Sunday, I woke up feeling free like I had never been before.

Axel told me over coffee that Theo had shown up to Crest Agency alongside Gemma, shouting about how his house had been robbed and he could no longer access his bank account.

“He thought it was an issue with his bank and wanted to know why we weren’t taking care of our talent.

You should have seen his face when they told him his contract had been terminated and he had to drop his key,” Axel laughed, and I joined in.

Almighty Theo walked in with his shoulders raised high and walked back home on foot, to an empty house. Soon he’d be homeless too. There was no way he could afford housing expenses.

The media had still not moved on from Theo and Gemma, as I expected. The story had everything – the affair, the live broadcast where they mocked a dead child’s mother while wearing her bikini.

“It has been one week and Theo Crane is still the number one trending topic worldwide. Fans are still angry, Will he ever regain their trust?”

“No production house will touch Gemma Rhodes. Not even for a background role. It’s over for her.”

“Will these two ever get picked up by another agency?” one broadcaster asked her co-host.

“Of course not! Who would want to associate themselves with damage like that?”

I went to work every morning and no longer thought about them. The story fed itself on its own.

Then Axel called me on a Wednesday.

“Theo Crane has requested a meeting with me,” he said. “He’s been calling the office every day for a week and trying to get in.”

I shook my head. How pathetic.

“What does he want?”

“I believe we can guess. I’m the legal representative of Crest Entertainment Group and my name is on every document he has signed.”

“He wants to beg? Haha. Agree to the meeting.”

When Theo walked into the office, he saw me seated at the head of the table with Axel standing behind me. His face twisted in confusion, then disgust.

“So this is how you were able to afford those bodyguards? This is how my contract got terminated. You threw yourself at him!”
