I Stabbed My Womb To Cut The Last Tie Binding Me To Him Chapter 06

He raised his hand to strike again, but Beverly grabbed 

his wrist, wailing. 

“Arthur!” 

“Arthur!” 

“This isn’t Caleb’s fault!” 

“You can’t blame this on him!” 

Beverly sobbed. 

“Didn’t you hear her?!” 

“Didn’t you hear?!” 

“Your daughter said you didn’t want her anymore!” 

“She said you two threw her away! You’re the ones who killed her!” 

“You killed her!” 

My father’s expression froze, as if his bones had been removed. He let go of Caleb and collapsed onto the floor. When my mother arrived, she found him kneeling, face buried in his hands, agonizingly weeping. 

“Arthur.” 

My mother walked over and held him. 

“Arthur…” 

“It was me,” my father cried until his eyes were 

swollen, looking at my mother in total collapse. “I killed Sage!” 

“It was me!” 

Beverly hurried to help Caleb up, but Caleb simply pushed her away. His heart felt like it was suffocating. 

He looked at Beverly coldly. 

“Are you satisfied now?” 

“My wife is like this… are you happy now?” 

“Caleb.” 

“Are you happy?” 

“Caleb…” 

“Answer me!” 

“Caleb!” 

Caleb grabbed Beverly by the shoulders, suddenly 

flying into a frenzy, shaking her violently as she 

sobbed. He demanded to know. 

“Are you happy?!” 

“You said Sage was a rich girl, that she’d be spoiled and arrogant, that she needed to be ‘broken in‘. You told me to do those things, say those words!” 

“You said your own mother–in–law treated you that way, that that’s how things are!” 

“You told me not to feel sorry for her!” 

“You told me to break her the way you were broken!” 

“To break my wife!” 

“But that was my wife! My wife, Mom!” 

Caleb suddenly lost all strength. He began to sob, 

letting go of Beverly and slumping to the floor. He 

clutched his chest in agony, looking up at her. 

“I’m dying, Mom! It hurts so much!” 

“I’m dying!” 

“I’m going to die right along with her!” 

“I’m dying too!” 

Caleb wept, slamming his head against the floor. The 

dull thud echoed in the hallway, mixed with my 

father’s repentance and my mother’s whimpers. Beverly stood there, bewildered and lost, clutching the hem of her clothes, whispering. 

“I didn’t know.” 

“I didn’t know.” 

“I really didn’t think Sage would jump.” 

“I didn’t know,” Beverly shook her head like a guilty child, tears falling. “I thought she was just using the baby to make us back down. I thought it was just a 

performance.” 

“I never intended for this to happen.” 

“I didn’t mean to cause a death.” 

“Caleb.” 

“Caleb,” she leaned down, grabbing his shoulders. “I 

didn’t mean it.” 

“I was wrong.” 

“Caleb, I’m sorry.” 

“Please don’t be mad at me.” 

“Don’t be mad.” 

“Get away from me!” 

Caleb shoved her away. He watched her fall to the floor, his eyes devoid of any former affection, only ice. 

“Get out!” 

“Get out!” 

“Caleb…” 

“Get out!” 

“Get out!” 

“Go!” 

Caleb sobbed. 

My father sobbed. 

My mother collapsed into my father’s arms, her eyes fixed on the door of the operating room. 

Only Beverly remained. 

She looked at the scene in a daze, took a few steps back, and then a few more. Finally, she ran–ran out of the 

suffocating hallway, out of the hospital, and vanished from sight.
