I Exposed My Stepsister’s Stolen Elite University Life Chapter 10

University was far more challenging than I had expected.

After ten years away from textbooks, there were enormous gaps in my knowledge.

My first core subject was Foundations of Law. The lecturer explained everything clearly, but I could barely follow him. Even basic legal terminology sounded unfamiliar.

The students around me filled page after page with notes while I sat in front of a blank notebook, unable to write a single word.

A sense of defeat I had not felt in years washed over me.

Could I really do this?

Could I ever catch up on the ten years that had been stolen from me?

After class, I went to the library alone.

I found the law section and stared uneasily at the rows of thick casebooks and legal texts.

I pulled a copy of Criminal Law from the shelf and opened it to the first page.

“Law is the shield of justice.”

Those six words cut through my uncertainty like a beam of light.

Clutching the book, I sat in a corner of the library and began reading from the very first word, forcing myself through every line.

From that day on, I became the strangest student in the library.

I arrived at six every morning and stayed until the library closed at eleven each night.

Like a dry sponge, I soaked up every bit of knowledge I could find.

I spent all the money I had saved from delivering food on textbooks and online courses.

Within two years, I had worked through the material most students covered in four.

By the end of my third year, I had graduated at the top of my class, completed Practical Legal Training—the professional training required for admission—and been admitted as a solicitor.

When the notice confirming my admission as a solicitor came through, I neither cried nor smiled.

I simply called Mr. Grant.

“Mr. Grant, I did it.”

The other end of the line remained silent for a long time. Then I heard a sob he could no longer hold back.

“My dear girl… my dear girl,” he said through his tears. “I always knew you could do it.”
