He Left Me For His Pregnant Ex, So I Took Everything Chapter 14

But the villains don’t just disappear with one line.

Ruby was first dropped by the society wives’ circle.

She couldn’t accept it, so she crashed an afternoon tea for socialites.

I hadn’t planned to go, but Chloe called me. “Ruby’s here, saying you’re forcing her to repay money, and that Garrett doesn’t want the child.”

I asked, “Where are you?”

She gave me the address.

When I arrived, Ruby was seated in the middle of the group.

“I admit I’m not the sharpest, but I did it all for my child. Scarlett Stirling is so wealthy—why does she have to nickel-and-dime me?”

One wife chimed in, “The rich aren’t always generous.”

Chloe spotted me and grinned. “Speak of the devil.”

Ruby turned, her face shifting.

I walked over. “Go on. Keep talking.”

She bit her lip. “It doesn’t matter what I say. You’ll always pull out some document to crush me.”

I asked, “Because the documents are real?”

She didn’t answer.

I placed a list on the table. “Garrison Group has confirmed that Ruby’s extended family received a total of five million six hundred thousand dollars in related payments. Today I’m not talking about the child. I’m talking about repayment.”

Ruby panicked. “I wasn’t the only one who took that money!”

“Then name names.”

The wives around the table leaned back.

Ruby scanned them. One woman avoided her gaze.

I called her out. “Mrs. Zhao, your husband’s company also received a consulting fee.”

Mrs. Zhao squirmed. “Chairwoman Stirling, we had no idea.”

“Then go home and ask.”

Everyone who had defended Ruby went quiet.

Ruby finally realized—her so-called allies were only there for the show, not to share the debt.

She stood up. “Are you all that scared of her?”

No one answered.

Chloe smiled. “People get scared when they owe money. That’s normal.”

Ruby grabbed her purse and started to leave.

I said, “Ruby, by tomorrow, wire the first two million back to Garrison Group. Otherwise, I’ll have the demand letter delivered to the Vance family home.”

She spun around. “Are you trying to destroy me?”

I said, “Asking you to repay isn’t destruction—it’s a reminder to stop stealing other people’s dignity.”

Tears welled up again. But this time, no one offered a tissue.

She ran out of the tea room.

Chloe sipped her tea. “This circle is ruthless. Without Garrett, she can’t even get sympathy.”

I said, “She still has Mrs. Vance.”

Chloe raised an eyebrow. “That should be interesting.”

Mrs. Vance did go to Ruby—not to comfort her, but to settle scores.

I got word they were fighting at the Vance family estate.

Summer asked, “Are we going?”

“Yes.”

She blinked. “You still care?”

“The old Vance house has things that belong to me.”

When I arrived, Mrs. Vance was having servants pack boxes.

Ruby stood at the bottom of the stairs, holding the baby.

“Mrs. Vance, you gave me these jewelry pieces!”

Mrs. Vance shrieked, “I gave them to a Vance daughter-in-law. Do you even qualify?”

Ruby laughed bitterly. “That’s not what you said when you begged me to marry into this family.”

Mrs. Vance shot back, “You lied to us!”

Ruby retorted, “I lied? Who told Garrett to fake the divorce?”

Mrs. Vance lunged for the box in Ruby’s hands.

Garrett stood to the side, exhausted. “Enough.”

No one listened.

I walked in.

The room went silent.

Mrs. Vance immediately snapped, “What are you doing here?”

I said, “Picking up my mother’s brooch.”

Ruby’s face changed.

Mrs. Vance played dumb. “What brooch?”

Garrett said quietly, “Mom, just give it back.”

Mrs. Vance glared at him. “Now you’re taking her side?”

I looked at her. “Mrs. Vance, you have ten minutes.”

She didn’t move.

I added, “After ten minutes, I’ll have my staff come in and inventory all the jewelry and furnishings I brought into this marriage.”

Mrs. Vance panicked. *You’d dare search the Vance house?*

“It’s not a search—it’s retrieval. I have the purchase receipts and documentation.”

Ruby suddenly laughed. *Mrs. Vance, didn’t you always say those things belonged to the Vances now?*

Mrs. Vance exploded, *Shut up!*

The once-close mother-in-law and daughter-in-law tore into each other in front of servants and relatives.

Garrett sat on the couch, completely unable to speak.

Finally, Mrs. Vance ordered someone to bring out a box.

Inside were my mother’s brooch and a few pieces I’d brought into the Vance home.

I counted them one by one.

Two were missing.

Mrs. Vance said, *It’s been years. Who keeps track?*

Ruby quickly added, *There’s a necklace in your safe. I’ve seen it.*

Mrs. Vance trembled with rage. *You ungrateful snake!*

Ruby shot back, *You never treated me like a person—just a baby-making machine.*

Garrett closed his eyes.

I packed the box away. *The other two pieces, deliver to my studio within three days.*

Mrs. Vance gritted her teeth. “Scarlett Stirling, you’ve ruined the
Vances. Isn’t that enough?”

I looked at her. “Mrs. Vance, you invited me here to watch the ending.”
