His Younger Self’s AI Loved Me More Than He Did Chapter 03

But when I opened the door, it was Maya standing there, belly huge. “Zara, you’ve been ignoring me for days. I’ve been so worried about you.”

I ignored her pleasantries and said coldly, “Don’t beat around the bush. Why are you here? Just say it.”

My coldness seemed to sting her.

She froze for a second.

Then her eyes swept over the half-packed luggage inside.

She could already tell I’d seen her and Ethan at the hospital.

Still, she called me Zara in that sugary voice.

“Zara, I’m scheduled for a C-section tomorrow. The hospital is lacking essential medical reserves and cannot find a compatible physiological match for my rare constitution. I had no choice but to come ask you for help.”

I kept my voice icy. “I don’t want to help. I’m busy. You should leave.”

When she saw my flat refusal, she sighed. “Then I’m sorry. I don’t have a choice.”

Right then, two people in white coats stepped out from behind her, along with four bodyguards.

“What are you doing—” I tried to shut the door, but it was too late. The four bodyguards shoved the door open and forced their way in.

The private doctor pinned me to the couch and tried to collect essential bodily fluid from me by force. “Let go of me!” I struggled with everything I had.

Only Al charged forward. “Hostile action toward Zara detected. Cease immediately.”

But two bodyguards seized a metal ornament and struck Al’s torso hard.

I watched helplessly as severe damage split its frame apart.

Maya looked a little uncomfortable but said lightly, “Ignore the robot. Just finish the medical collection.” In sheer desperation, I fumbled for my phone and dialed Ethan. Thankfully, he picked up.

“Ethan, Maya broke in with people. She’s trying to force a medical extraction from me!” After a brief silence, Ethan’s breath hitched on the other end. “Zara, I told Maya to go.”

For a moment, I even forgot to struggle. He kept talking. “Her situation is urgent. It’s just a tiny medical extraction. You’ll be fine.”

But he didn’t know I’d miscarried.

The doctor said any more extraction could lead to serious complications.

My struggles were useless.

The cold needle slid gently into my arm’s vein

Through the phone pressed against my ear, Ethan’s voice kept going in that cruel, soothing tone. “Zara, don’t be scared. It’ll be over soon.”

“When I’m back, I’ll make you soup myself to build your strength back up, okay?”

The blood bag slowly filled. My vision started to blur. All I could see was Al still trying to crawl toward me.

Every time it dragged itself toward me, they shoved it roughly aside, loose fragments falling off its frame.

Once the bag was full, the private doctor pulled out the needle. Ethan finally let out a relieved breath.

“Zara, get some rest first. Wait for me to come home.”

Then he hung up.

Maya and her people were leaving. She paused at the door without looking back.

“Zara, since you’ve already seen everything, you should understand. Some things are better left ignored. It’s better for everyone.”

The door slammed shut. I turned to look at Al, lying not far away.

Its frame was badly dented, broken outer shell pieces littered the floor, and one mechanical limb lay separated several feet away..

I tried to stand but collapsed to the floor, completely drained.

Clenching my teeth, I dragged my weak body and crawled toward him, inch by inch.

His system was severely damaged, but he kept repeating in broken fragments, “Don’t hurt Zara…”

Trembling, I took hold of his cold mechanical hand.

“Al, it’s time for us to go…” I tried to lift him.

But half of his body was smashed beyond repair.

One arm had been tossed far away.

Only his human-like head was still intact, gazing at me quietly.

“Zara, as long as you’re okay.”
