The Second Chance Wolf Chapter 06

The Second Chance Wolf Chapter 06

Back at the Whiteleaf Pack, Anna looked at the devastated expressions on our parents’ faces and quickly

stepped forward, grabbing Mom’s sleeve.

“Mom, Dad, don’t let her fool you.”

“So what if she got in? Who knows what she had to do to make it happen?”

“With her abilities? No talent, no looks, no foundation. How could she possibly get into Royal Fang

Academy?”

“Maybe she bought her admission through some dirty deal!”

“She’s always been calculating. She’s envied me for years. She couldn’t stand losing, so she must have resorted to something underhanded!”

“Don’t feel sorry for her just because of this. She doesn’t deserve it.”

“Trust me. I’ll repeat the year, and next year I’ll get into Royal Fang Academy too. I’m the daughter you’re supposed to be proud of!”

The moment she finished speaking… a loud slap echoed through the packhouse.

Everyone watching stood frozen in shock.

Mom had raised her hand and struck Anna hard across the face.

Anna’s head snapped to the side. A bright red handprint immediately bloomed across her cheek.

She stared at Mom, tears filling her eyes, unable to believe what had just happened.

Since the day she was born… our parents had never laid a finger on her.

No matter how willful or unreasonable she had been, they had always responded with patience and

affection.

Her eyes turned red, “Mom, you… you hit me?”

Mom’s chest rose and fell violently.

For the first time, there was only coldness in her eyes.

She stared at Anna, “Enough.”

Her voice was hoarse. At that moment… she finally began to wake up.

Dad suddenly came back to his senses. His trembling fingers pulled out his phone.

“Beta Ken, hurry. Call Hope. Bring her back to the pack.”

“We misunderstood her. We have to apologize.”

“Hurry!”

The call went through.

Beep… Beep…

No answer.

He called again. Still nothing.

Again. And again.

More than a dozen calls. Every single one went unanswered.

Message after message disappeared into silence without a single reply. Like stones sinking into the ocean.

At that very moment, I was standing in Royal Fang Academy’s spacious training hall.

Warm sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, spilling across the polished floor and onto my

shoulders.

It felt almost unreal.

The entire freshman class was taking part in the academy’s entrance assessment.

Everyone drew lots and competed in one-on-one matches.

When my name was called… the training hall suddenly fell silent.

Countless eyes settled on me.

Some curious. Most dismissive.

I knew exactly what they were thinking.

I was slim. Short.

Standing among the towering werewolf freshmen, I looked almost insignificant.

My opponent, on the other hand, was a well-built she-wolf with powerful muscles.

“I’ll bet five bucks the skinny girl doesn’t even last a minute.”

Soft laughter spread through the crowd. Almost everyone was waiting to watch me lose.

I simply smiled.

The instant the countdown reached zero…

I moved first. Step. Pivot. Block. Counterattack.

Every movement was clean, precise, and effortless.

After only a few exchanges, I spotted an opening.

I seized it without hesitation.

With a perfectly executed shoulder throw, I slammed my opponent onto the mat.

The entire training hall fell into stunned silence.

Two seconds later… thunderous applause erupted.

The instructor jumped to his feet, his eyes shining with excitement.

“Excellent! Your fundamentals are exceptional.”

“You have both strength and technique, and your control of the fight’s rhythm is nearly flawless.”

“Among this year’s freshmen, you’re the most promising warrior I’ve seen.”

The classmates who had laughed at me moments earlier stood speechless.

The contempt in their eyes had disappeared. In its place… was admiration.

I let out a quiet breath. A small smile slowly spread across my face.

So…

After leaving the place that constantly told me I wasn’t good enough, I really wasn’t as worthless as they had

made me believe.

After class, my phone kept vibrating inside my backpack.

I pulled it out.

The screen was filled with missed calls. Every single one was from home. My old pack.

I glanced at them calmly.

Today was the day Anna started her repeat year.

I felt nothing.

By now, they should have been busy taking her to school.

For two whole months, they hadn’t tried to contact me.

Why would they suddenly remember their useless older daughter?

Without the slightest hesitation… I dragged both of my parents’ numbers into the blacklist.
