His Captive Obsession Chapter 17

His Captive Obsession Chapter 17

It was impossible to reconcile the ruthless billionaire on TV with this weeping mess who kept making such pathetic noises in front of Mom.

Slap!

Mom slapped him across the face. “I’m just angry because you keep hurting yourself like this.”

“I only wanted some space because I was completely exhausted.”

“You need to change, Tristan. Learn to be rational. Stop acting like a desperate dog the second you see me, understand?”

“I’ll change, Valerie, I swear,” he cried beautifully, holding her face in his hands.

“You know what my childhood was like. My father had countless children, and my uncle raised me like a weapon—breaking my bones and forcing me to endure it was a daily routine.”

“My stepmother tortured me until I wanted to destroy her and myself, and you were the one who saved me…”

Mom gently stroked his cheek. “I’m not leaving you.”

He burst into louder tears, staring at her like she was his entire world.

Mom slapped him again. “The door is open, stop it.”

Daddy leaned into the slap, letting out a deeply satisfied sigh. “That feels so good.”

It looked like he was about to lick her palm the next second. I couldn’t understand adults at all.

“Zoe is asleep, I tucked her in myself. She sleeps like a baby, she won’t wake up.”

“Valerie, I’m hungry. I want a drink.”

He lifted Mom up effortlessly, holding her against his chest as he walked toward the door, only to realize I was standing right there peeking in.

“Mom, Dad, I want a bedtime story.”

Daddy’s face contorted in pure frustration.

After that night, alarms were installed on almost every door in the estate—the music room, the greenhouse, the garage, the pool…

If I got anywhere near them, a loud beep would go off.

It was incredibly annoying. They were way too clingy, and on family days, I felt like a piece of candy being completely smothered between the two of them.

I eventually signed up for a ton of extracurricular classes just to get some breathing room.

Distance makes the heart grow fonder, and I really hoped they would learn that lesson too.
