Two Star Healers And A Forgotten Fated Mate Chapter 09

Two Star Healers And A Forgotten Fated Mate Chapter 09

I stepped out of the tavern and spotted Sebastian waiting for me on the sidewalk.

The second I saw him, my eyes stung with sudden soft emotion.

I ran straight into his waiting arms, burying my face in his chest.
“Sorry I made you wait out here.”

He didn’t ask a single question about what had happened inside, just wrapped me tight and spun me in a slow circle.

My dress flared out around me like a blooming flower.

All the heavy, tangled sadness clinging to my chest melted away instantly, and I laughed loud against his shirt.

Every single day spent with Sebastian felt light and uncomplicated, no hidden tension weighing on my shoulders.

We held hands walking home, passing a home goods store that was locking up for the night.

I spotted the stone countertop I’d been searching for through the glass window, gasping quietly.

“That’s exactly the slab I need!”

I marched inside and put down a deposit to reserve it without a second thought.

With the shop fixture sorted, we finalized our travel plans to head back to Asterbay Pack.

Right before boarding our plane, I hugged my parents tight, promising them sincerely.

“I’ll get the bakery up and running smoothly. Once Dad finds a fitting Beta heir to take over pack leadership, I’ll fly you both down to live with us by the coast.”

They laughed, squeezing my hands gently. “You’ve always kept every promise you make. Don’t overwork yourself—Norhaven Pack will always be your home to return to whenever you need it.”

Asterbay Pack.

Sebastian’s old heart injury ruled out any chance of him inheriting pack leadership, so he owned a small bed and breakfast right along the bay shore.

My new bakery sat just a short walk from his inn.

We finished the last touches of renovation in my shop, and I polished the imported stone countertop over and over again, grinning nonstop.

Sebastian cupped his hands around his mouth like a news reporter’s microphone, teasing me.

“Interview time, Miss Baker! Your shop Spring Night opens tomorrow at nine a.m. How are you feeling right now?”

I played along, straightening my blouse collar with a serious dramatic expression.

“I’m incredibly honored and overjoyed. And I swear I’ll bake the best pastries the entire wolf territories have ever tasted!”

Sebastian leaned in close, a soft smile tugging at his lips.

“Then I’d love to be the fated mate of the woman who bakes the world’s finest desserts.”

We laughed and locked up the bakery for the night.

Dusk had fallen fully, warm golden string lights glowing along every street.

A soft wind swept down the narrow alley between the shops, and Sebastian laced his fingers through mine, pulling me into a light jog into the breeze.

Asterbay’s spring bloomed wildflowers everywhere, and loose pink and white petals swirled through the air, settling lightly on my shoulders.

This quiet, perfect moment, bathed in soft moonlight and flower petals—this was my own spring night, mine and mine alone.
