After My Future Husband’s Video, I Took $100 Million and Vanished Chapter 01

After My Future Husband’s Video, I Took $100 Million and Vanished Chapter 01

I stumbled across a strange poll on Reddit.

[How would you rather find out your boyfriend’s secret?

A. Discover it yourself

B. Hear it from him]

The instant I tapped B, my phone lit up with a video call from Julian Thorne.

According to the caller ID, it was Julian… from five years in the future.

The moment the screen connected, I saw the same sharp, arrogant features that had stolen my heart years ago. His broad shoulders, lean waist, and effortless confidence hadn’t changed one bit.

Then a woman’s soft, breathless moan drifted through the speaker.

Heat rushed to my face.

I laughed awkwardly.

“So… was that me? Are we still that crazy about each other after we’re married?”

Julian didn’t smile.

His expression stayed cold as he silently flipped the camera around.

My heart stopped.

A young woman straddled his lap against a floor-to-ceiling window.

I recognized her instantly.

Vivian Miller.

The college student I’d sponsored for four years.

The girl whose tuition I’d paid.

The girl I’d bought clothes for.

The girl I’d taken to doctor’s appointments.

The girl I’d personally hired as Julian’s executive assistant.

She clung to him as their bodies moved together without the slightest restraint.

I stared at the screen, unable to breathe.

Julian calmly lit a cigarette before turning the camera back toward himself.

“I actually touched her under the dinner table the very first time you introduced her to me.”

He exhaled a slow stream of smoke.

“Chloe Rhodes, if you want the three of us to stay married…”

“…then accept my proposal today.”

My fingers tightened around the diamond necklace Julian had just fastened around my neck earlier that evening. The sharp edges dug painfully into my palm.

I refused to believe it.

Julian and I had been together for six years.

He had walked away from his billionaire family’s fortune because he insisted on building a life with me.

Vivian was someone I’d practically raised.

I’d invested four years into giving her a future.

How could the two people I trusted most betray me like this?

Julian’s black Bentley was still parked in his reserved space downstairs.

Just as I headed toward the building, my phone buzzed again.

The sender’s contact name read:

Julian (Five Years Later)

[Figured you’d come looking for her.]

[Don’t go upstairs. They just finished sleeping together. I don’t think you’re ready to see that.]

[You still have the spare key to my car. Unlock it and check the gap underneath the passenger-side floor mat.]

[Then listen to the dashcam recording from 8:30 tonight.]

My hands trembled as I pressed the unlock button.

Inside the passenger footwell, tucked beneath the floor mat, I found a torn black lace stocking.

A faint, unmistakable smell clung to the fabric.

My stomach lurched.

Swallowing my nausea, I removed the dashcam’s memory card and inserted it into my phone.

The recording began.

At exactly 8:30 p.m., Vivian’s sweet, flirtatious voice filled my ears.

[“Julian… you were so bold tonight. You were rubbing my leg under the dinner table while Chloe was sitting right across from us. She didn’t notice a thing.”]

Julian chuckled.

[“Whose fault was that? You wore those stockings on purpose. Were you trying to tempt me?”]

[“Besides, she couldn’t take her eyes off me. Why would she ever think to look under the table?”]

Vivian giggled.

[“You’re awful… So are you still going back to the office later?”]

He laughed.

[“I’m coming to your place. I’m not going home tonight.”]

The sounds that followed were enough.

I couldn’t listen anymore.

I carefully returned everything exactly where I’d found it, erased every trace that the files had been opened, locked the Bentley, and walked away.

By the time I got home, dawn was breaking.

I sat alone on the couch all night.

At seven the next morning, I heard the front door unlock.

Julian walked in carrying breakfast sandwiches from our favorite bagel shop. Dark circles lingered beneath his eyes.

“Why’d you sleep on the couch?” he asked, setting the bag on the table. “Don’t tell me you stayed up waiting for me.”

I turned my head away.

His hand froze halfway toward me.

“What’s wrong, baby?” he asked gently. “Are you upset because I had to leave dinner early last night? There was a major system failure at the company. I worked on it all night.”

He leaned down and kissed the top of my head.

“Chloe… I’ve got a surprise for you today.”

I dug my nails into my palm before forcing out a smile.

“I’m fine. I just woke up with a headache. You look exhausted.”

Relief softened his face.

“I’m going to grab some plates.”

As soon as he disappeared into the kitchen, I opened my messages.

[When did the two of you start sleeping together?]

The reply came almost instantly.

[The first day you hired her as my assistant.]

[She walked into my office, took off her clothes, and offered herself to me.]

[After that, we slept together countless times while you were right under our noses.]
