Starved Incubus: Wife Uses Me For Housework, I Want Kisses Chapter 05

The price of indulging a incubus was a pair of swollen lips and a split tongue.

It hurt even when I kept my mouth shut.

The guy responsible was currently holding an ice pack against my mouth to bring the swelling down.

Now that he was fed and watered, Damian had retreated back into his shell of icy silence.

“Sore?” he asked.

“I’m fine.”

I shook my head, face burning, while my fingers idly toyed with the tip of his tail.

It would be hypocritical to complain since I had enjoyed the make-out session just as much as he did.

Incubus really lived up to the hype; they were experts at making humans lose all sense of reason.

They were intoxicating.

Being around him made me want to abandon my responsibilities and spend the rest of my life tangled in the sheets.

I cleared my throat, forcing myself to snap out of the lustful haze before I did something reckless.

I needed to pivot to a boring, safe topic.

If I didn’t distract myself, I was going to jump him again.

“Damian, is physical intimacy the only way to fix it when you get… hungry?”

Damian nodded.

“Yeah.”

“Did you have to do this with your last owner?”

“No.”

Damian paused to explain. “I never had a previous owner. You are the only one.”

I was surprised, but it made sense.

“I guess that tracks; I can’t imagine anyone buying you and then returning you to the store.”

He shook his head.

“That is not it. incubus are divided into High-Tiers and Low-Tiers.”

“Low-Tiers are property, waiting to be bought by humans. High-Tiers, however, live freely in society with equal rights and can even amass great wealth.”

“Wait, you look like this and you’re considered Low-Tier?”

I was genuinely offended on his behalf.

“I refuse to believe there is a incubus out there hotter than you. Who was blind enough to put you in the bargain bin?”

A shadow of confusion crossed Damian’s eyes, and he hesitated.

“I do not know. My memories are fragmented.”

“The shopkeeper found me on the street. A incubus without identification papers has no choice but to wait for a buyer.”

My heart broke instantly.

I imagined a tragic backstory filled with suffering and a fall from grace.

He was the textbook definition of a tortured soul.

I rushed to hug him, offering whatever comfort I could.

“It is okay, you have me now. We are going to have a good life together, I promise.”

The cold lines of Damian’s eyes softened.

“Okay.”

Once my lips stopped throbbing, I happily snuggled back into Damian’s arms.

We spent a while just cuddling, and finally, the biological alarms in his body quieted down.

He closed his eyes and drifted into a peaceful sleep.

The corners of his eyes were still flushed, his thick lashes casting shadows on his cheeks.

His tail, however, remained wrapped around my leg with intense possessiveness.

I, on the other hand, had gone from exhausted corporate drone to wide awake.

Had I known incubus were this much fun, I wouldn’t have waited—I’d have wrestled him into my bed that very first night.

Think of all the perfectly good nights I had wasted.

I squinted at the ceiling, mentally kicking myself, before pulling out my phone to actually study the Care and Keeping of incubus.

If I was going to do this, I was going to do it right.

Just then, a breaking news notification popped up at the top of my screen.
