From the day we met, to dating, to our wedding, we had spent so many years together.

When he first took over the company, many of the board

members didn’t trust him.

He’d lie awake all night, and I would sit with him until

the sun came up.

Back then, he would hold me and promise that as soon as he had a firm grip on the company, he would give me the best life imaginable.

Later, our life did become stable.

But we still ended up here.

“Odessa, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I didn’t have a choice. He was my brother.”

“I told you before-when I was little, my mother was never around, and my father died young. My brother raised me.”

“I just wanted him to leave a child behind in this world.”

Tears streamed down his face as he spoke.

“So you sacrificed me for that.”

“If I hadn’t been randomly looking through your phone and found this recording, were you planning to hide it from me for the rest of my life?”

I still remembered the moment I found that recording two days ago, while I was packing.

My entire body had gone rigid.

I never imagined the man I slept next to every night was capable of doing something like that to me, right under

my nose.

“Odessa, I’m sorry.”

“It was a moment of weakness. It was the only mistake I ever made.”

“Please, give me another chance.”

When I didn’t respond, he sank to the floor and grabbed the hem of my jeans, begging.
