My Husband Accused My Family of Stealing His Mother’s Gift Chapter 06

Adrian was trembling with rage as he snatched the proposed marital settlement agreement from my hand.

“Well, look at you, Sienna. You’ve gotten bold.’

“Something came up with my family, so I couldn’t stay for your father’s dinner, and now you’re pulling this divorce stunt over it?”

“Fine. You’ve really outdone yourself this time.”

Adrian scrawled his name across the agreement, then flung the papers in my face.

“You brought this on yourself.”

Linda stood in the doorway with one hand planted on her hip, jabbing a finger at me.

“Divorce her. Do it now. I’ve wanted her out of this family for years.”

“You’ve been married to my son all this time and still haven’t given him a child. Who do you think you are, walking around with that attitude?”

Maya stepped forward as well, her eyes already turning red as she reached for my arm.

“Mrs. Mercer, please don’t do anything you’ll regret. Mr. Mercer is just in a bad mood today. Apologize to him, and all of this can blow over.”

I shook off her hand without even looking at her.

Noah leaned against the doorframe with a smirk and looked me up and down.

“Sienna, Uncle Adrian paid for the house and the car. If you divorce him now, you’ll walk away with

nothing. You have to be out of your mind.”

I said nothing.

Adrian stormed off with his family.

Their footsteps gradually faded down the hall, leaving the living room silent.

Mom and Dad remained rooted to the spot, their faces pale. Tyler’s hands were clenched into fists

so tightly that his knuckles cracked.

I took a deep breath, walked into the bedroom, and picked up my phone.

I opened an upscale bakery’s delivery app and ordered a three-hundred-dollar black-swan birthday cake.

Twenty minutes later, the doorbell rang.

When I opened the door, a handsome courier who stood a little over six feet tall was waiting outside

in a crisp delivery uniform. He held an elegant square cake box carefully in both hands/

“Your black-swan cake. Please wish your father a happy birthday for us.”

I accepted the cake and carried it back to the dining table.

The moment I opened the box, Dad froze.

The cake was not large, but every detail was exquisite.

An elegant black sugar swan stood on the white buttercream with its wings spread wide. Beside it sat a gold chocolate plaque that read, “Happy 60th, Dad.”

Dad stared at the swan for several seconds before his eyes suddenly filled with tears.

They ran down the deep lines in his face. He hurriedly wiped them away with his sleeve, only for

more to take their place.

“Sienna… I…”

His voice broke, and he could not finish.

Mom began crying too. She turned away and wiped at her eyes.

Tyler tilted his head back and blinked hard.

I cut the prettiest slice of cake, held it carefully in both hands, and offered it to Dad.

I gave him a genuine smile.

“Happy birthday, Dad.”
