He Only Wanted His Foster Sister, Yet Burned For Me Instead Chapter 05

He Only Wanted His Foster Sister, Yet Burned For Me Instead Chapter 05

Over the course of a single meal, Hilary and her little boyfriend held hands eight times and fed each

other a dozen mouthfuls of food.

Every time they spoke, they used “baby” like it was a comma.

Tristan kept his face dark the entire time, his eyes cutting over to my side of the table every few

minutes.

The chat went wild over the drama:

[Look at how furious the male lead is! Our precious female lead completely knows what she’s doing! The second female lead is such an eyesore here, though.]

[A love triangle! My absolute favorite trope! Is it allowed for the female lead to just take both the male lead and the second male lead? Please say yes!]

[Ugh, no way. The second male lead is a total player. The female lead is just online-dating two guys,

but his roster of online and offline girlfriends could literally form an entire football team.]

[Our female lead deserves the best. A guy who isn’t a virgin shouldn’t even be in the running.]

Mm. On that last point, I completely agreed.

I finished my food. A split second before I was about to stand up, a leg slid over under the table, its calf lightly brushing against my bare ankle.

I turned my head and locked eyes with a pair of curving, amused bedroom eyes.

This was Julian Vance, right?

An untamed, desperate attention-seeker. Flaunting a girl right in front of him and still trying to

touch me he was infinitely more shameless than Tristan, who would rather die than drop his stoic

act.

My lips curled into a cold smirk.

I lifted my foot, brought it down hard on top of his, and ground my heel into his skin with

everything I had.

Beside me, Julian sucked in a sharp breath, his brows twisting in sudden agony, but he was forced to keep his face completely flat as if nothing had happened.

“Oh!”

I feigned a sudden stumble, letting out a soft gasp.

“I… I wasn’t careful when I stood up. I think I twisted my ankle.”

Julian arched an eyebrow.

Hilary’s expression darkened with irritation, making it perfectly clear she couldn’t care less about

“Are you serious right now?” she snapped. “Always so high-maintenance. Don’t bother coming

over for lunch ever again.”

“I’m sorry,” I mumbled, putting on my best timid apology. “You guys keep eating. Tristan can just help me over to the bedroom to rest for a bit. I can take myself to the hospital later.”

The very second the bedroom door clicked shut, I threw my weight forward and shoved Tristan flat

onto the bed.

He offered a half-hearted, reluctant warning: “Watch

I gave my leg a casual swing. “It’s fine. I lied to them.”

your

ankle.”

Tristan’s face went ice-cold as he tried to push me off. “I’m going back out.”

I pinned him straight back down into the mattress, raised my hand, and delivered a sharp slap

across his face.

“Do you have any idea what you did wrong?”
