His Human Luna Managed to Get Away Chapter 09 The Butcher’s Reflection

Abuse?!

Soren shot to his feet, lunged at the doctor, and snatched the autopsy report. “Who dared?”

He knew it! Nia couldn’t have killed herself. No way!

Who in the world would lay a hand on Nia?

The doctor read from the report. “A piece of flesh was carved out of Mrs. Shaw’s chest with a knife.”

Soren’s heart sank.

‘And…”

‘And what?” His voice came out terrifyingly hoarse.

‘We found seventeen needle marks on her body.” The doctor flipped through photos. “The blood draws were rough. Some needles even went straight through veins…”

The photos showed purple, bruised puncture wounds that pierced Soren’s heart.

The woman he had held in the palm of his hand-and those guards dared to treat her so cruelly?

But the next moment, his expression crumbled.

Wasn’t all of this done with the authority he himself had given them?

The doctor closed the report. “We also observed fingernail marks on Mrs. Shaw’s palms. That was about half an hour ago-right around the time she fell. She seemed to have been resisting strongly. So her death may have been caused by someone else.”

At those words, Soren’s chest felt as if it had been stabbed. Agony ripped through him.

The wound on Nia’s chest-he had carved it with his own hand. The 1000 cc of blood-he had ordered it taken. Even the phone call before she jumped-it had been to him.

Soren couldn’t imagine what had been going through her heart when she said. “Once I’m dead, I really won’t make a fuss anymore.”

And he-he hadn’t taken those words seriously at all.

He had said, “Why can’t you endure a little longer?” He had said, “Dead is dead.”

Blood rushed to his brain. Soren fell into deep, hopeless despair.

He was the executioner who had pushed Nia to her death.

Ten feet away, Soren’s eyes fell on Nia’s limp, lifeless hand hanging from under the white sheet.

That hand had lost all its color. A faint, deathly stillness clung to it.

He chatched the agonizing pain in his chest, gritted his teeth-and spat out a mouthful of blood. overwhelmed by grief and guilt.

Nia stared at the screen, her fingernails unconsciously digging into her pakos.

She had gotten a large sum of money from Soren’s mother. That was why, when she left, she had taken a helicopter without a second’s delay.

Dragging her broken body, enduring the extreme pain from the flight-just to escape his world as fast as possible.

On the surveillance footage, Soren knelt before the “corpse.” His suit was soaked in blood. His usually sharp, fierce features were twisted into an expression she had never seen on hire before.

His trembling hand wanted to touch her pale one, but couldn’t bring himself to do it. A seundless, desperate sob escaped his throat.

Heh…” Nia laughed. The laughter sounded especially harsh in the empty hotel room.

How ironic.

He had turned a blind eye to her suffering back then. But now, kneeling before a fake corpse, he was crying?

A glint of light flashed across the screen-Soren’s wedding ring had fallen off.

That ring, which he had never once taken off, now lay alone in a pool of blood. Soren pressed his hand to his chest and muttered, “It hurts so much, Nia… right here… it hurts…”

Nia clenched the mouse. Her chest heaved violently.

n her current physical state, even breathing took effort.

Now you know pain?” she whispered at the screen. “But my pain-it’s a thousand times worse than yours.”

A heartwrenching roar came from the surveillance feed.

Soren ripped off the white sheet like a madman-but froze the moment he saw the “corpse’s” face.

Nia touched her collarbone. The scar from the carved-out bond mark was still there.

She remembered being strapped to the operating table, Soren saying, “Just bear with it.”

Now, it was his turn to bear it.

A stinging pain suddenly hit her. She looked down and saw four bloody crescent moons dug into her palm.

How strange. The plan had worked. So why did her heart still feel like it was being squeezed by that bloody

hand?

On the screen, Soren buried his face in the crook of the “corpse’s” neck, sniffing frantically.

She knew what he was looking for. That bond that used to let him find her, no matter how far apart they

were.

But Soren seemed to have forgotten.

He had carved out their mating bond mark with his own hand. He had cut off every possibility of ever finding her again.
