He Broke My Heart, My Family Broke His Empire Chapter 13

I blinked and took my brother’s phone.

The screen lit up. The video was shaky, clearly filmed by one of Wyatt’s bodyguards. The setting was the living room of my Beacon Hill apartment. Julian was being held by two burly men, his arms pinned, his face a mask of panic and disbelief.

“Wyatt? What are you doing here?” Julian’s voice was strangled.

In the video, Wyatt wore the same black coat I remembered. His expression was colder than I had ever seen it. He slowly stood and walked toward Julian, his eyes churning with the familiar, ferocious anger of the Calloway family.

The next second, Wyatt’s fist connected with Julian’s face.

The dull thud of bone on bone made my own heart clench.

Julian’s head snapped to the side as he crumpled to the floor. Wyatt didn’t stop. He followed with a second punch, then a third.

Julian’s face quickly began to swell. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth as he curled up on the expensive Persian rug, as pathetic as a stray dog. Beside him, Felicity let out a piercing scream, her face ashen.

Wyatt finally stopped, his chest heaving. He turned his head, his icy gaze sweeping over Felicity like a razor.

“That Burberry coat belongs to Clara. The Cartier on your wrist belongs to Clara, too.”

His voice was quiet, but it froze the air in the room.

Wyatt’s gaze locked back on Julian, who was groaning on the floor. He grabbed Julian by the collar and hauled him to his feet.

“Julian Ashworth, did you really think the Calloway family was just going to let this slide?” he said, each word a judgment. “You let some woman who crawled into your bed touch my sister’s things?”

Before the words had even settled, two crisp, ringing slaps cracked across Julian’s face.

Julian spat out a mouthful of blood. “Wyatt… those things… Clara didn’t want them, so I…”

“Don’t you say her name,” Wyatt cut him off, his voice cold enough to freeze hell. “You don’t have the right.”

He let go, and Julian slid back to the floor.

“When I found her, she was curled up under a bridge, frozen purple. A little longer… just a little longer, and she would have died!” Wyatt’s voice suddenly rose, the roar cracking with a raw, choked sound.

“I raised her. I treated her like she was the most precious thing in the world… Who the hell gave you the right to destroy her like this?”
